Hello, I apologize if this has been asked before, but I’ve done quite a bit of research and still can’t figure out which option would be the best.

We’re moving from the Lower 48 to Alaska as part of a military PCS. We have a fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house plus a full garage, so we have a lot of belongings.

We’re considering driving a U Haul ourselves, ABF/U Pack, freight, or other options.

For anyone who has done a move like this, what was the most affordable option while still keeping your belongings safe? Is there anything you would do differently?

I’d also really appreciate any tips for avoiding damage, theft, hidden fees, or unexpected costs.

What’s the cheapest and safest way to move a full 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house from the Lower 48 to Alaska?

My PFAFF Hobby 1122 is apparently oil free maintenance but recently, it has started making a squeaky noise around the needle/presser-foot area. Can i oil it? If so, what type of oil should I use, and where exactly should I apply it? Is regular sewing machine oil okay, or does PFAFF hobby 1122 require a specific oil?
