2ft x 2ft spot in my rental is bouncy

How screwed am I? I think it’s laminate flooring. The cheap grey wood stuff. I can feel there is no more subfloor under this spot and can feel the joist

Shoes?

Hi brides! I’m wondering what everyone is doing/did for shoes! I am not really a heel person, but think it may be nice to wear some. So I’m pretty much open to anything! I’m interested in seeing what everyone else did ☺️

Just got my first machine!

I got it for free!! I know it’s older but I think it’s a steal. I’ve spent all day learning how to use it. I’ve been practicing on little tote bags, it’s so fun!

November honeymoon destinations

Need help!! We are planning our honeymoon. We are getting married in the summer months but want to go somewhere hot, with a beach. So we are waiting until November. Here are our ideas

We want to lay on a beach chair and do absolutely nothing.

Adults only and/or all inclusive a bonus

-NO Mexico.
-Hawaii? But so expensive. I have been to Maui so would rather go to Kona or something, but that may be less exciting and beachy for hubby
-Dominican republic?
-Fiji?
-Maldives is a dream — sooo expensive.

Navigating new layers…

Hi everyone. I’ve got 15 chickens; 5 I raised last year, 7 I raised this year, 3 are chicks with a broody hen.

The 7 pullets are starting to lay. Every morning this week, I have cleaned up 1 or 2 soft shelled eggs from the poop shelf in the morning. This is fine, my one hen did this often when she started laying last year. I’m not actually sure who it is coming from, I suspected the barred rock.. this morning my sasso (to the left of the barred rock) laid this super flat egg. I noticed the broken/soft shelled egg was in her spot on the shelf this morning (I took photo last night). I’m guessing she is having production issues with her body producing more egg than she can lay lol. There is an “impact” mark on the flat egg, where another egg possibly bumped into it.

Now, I’m not sure if my new layers are eating the oyster shell. I’ve tried to shake some outside to see if they’ll eat it but not interested. I know I can get black soldier fly treats for calcium but they are SO expensive where I am. Is there anything else I can try before unloading my entire paycheque at the pet store?

Did you get a makeup trial?

Tl;DR I’m wondering if it is worth the risk to skip the makeup trial or if I should just fork out the extra money for the peace of mind.

So.. I’m in a small town. There’s not a lot for makeup artists. I know it’s a luxury, but it was something I wanted to get done so that I could have a nice pampering morning. I went through a lot of makeup artist pages, and a lot were either just starting out, or just..not great.. falsies falling off, makeup unblended etc.

I found one I liked, and she was very professional. She brings her own lights, mirrors, chairs etc (not needed as there is a specific get ready area at the venue but still a luxury) but she was expensive. I decided I wanted to spend the extra money and booked her.

It’s $400 for my makeup (the other places quoted me $150-$250) but I figured you get what you pay for and I’ll pay for the peace of mind. My bridesmaids makeup will be $250 each.

Now, this doesn’t include a trial. The trial is an extra $300. I’m not sure what the difference between my makeup on a previous day vs the wedding morning is.. since it should be the same makeup, or if it’s just her extra time for touch ups maybe that I’m paying for— either way not a big deal!

But I just don’t know if I can justify $300 just to trial her. PLUS me and my bridesmaids makeup for the wedding morning.

I’m looking for happy stories from people who maybe didn’t do a trial? Or maybe a bad story where you wish you did a trial? Maybe I should suck it up and get a trial?

Wedding subs are brutal

Literally I could post ANYTHING and it instantly gets downvoted. I feel like, even if I agree with the people going at me about something in the comments, they change sides just for the point of disagreeing with me.

I feel like whatever I post or comment in the group, instant downvotes, instant people saying I suck in the comments lol. I posted asking for cute sayings for a wedding sign decoration and instantly got downvoted. I don’t get it. It’s relevant to the sub.. Im sure in a few minutes people will be commenting on how stupid it is to have a sign at my wedding.

I understand I’m asking for opinions, maybe I am sensitive. But it seems like people that participate in those subs are like “anti-wedding”. They comment on how much they hate big weddings, how much they hate small weddings, how brides suck, how grooms suck, like it’s exhausting.

Cute sign saying

I’m thinking of getting one of the cute little neon signs for a photo area at our venue.
I want to do a saying that is cute and fun, and not our names or last name. I want something cute that people can take photos by if they’d like. I need help with a saying!
It’s a “western” wedding, so something country would be cute.

I was going to do “It’s a love story” like Taylor swift but I’m just not sure I love it.

Integration of Mama Hen and Babies

Hi guys, I have a hen that hatched some chicks. The chicks are about 1.5 weeks old.

She was getting very restless in her small little "nursery" setup I had. She wanted to dust bath and stretch her legs. Every time I went into the coop she was pacing the door of the nursery.

I let her out a couple times but because the coop is smaller and there's only one exit for them (the chicken door) it wasn't great.
Every hen that came in she would grab onto and fight. She kicked all the hens out of the nesting box.

So today, I put her and the chicks outside in the run. They seem actually okay. A couple curious hens and pullets have gone over and mama hen (cinnamon) just goes RIGHT after them lol. Even my rooster tonka Jahari got a taste of mama bear.

I have a house sitter for a trip starting in 2 days. I was *hoping* these guys would be integrated and it would be less stressful on my house sitter but I'm so nervous!
I've never done this before, I'm wondering if this is good behavior? Or if my mama hen 1 will become stressed? Should I put her in the nursery while I'm away? She really
didn't like it. But I’m worried if I leave her out something bad will happen. My house sitter isn’t super duper chicken savvy.

I’ve included a photo of my run, my mama hen is in the bottom right.

Chickens during heatwave

How do you guys deal with the coop at night during a heatwave? I’ve got a battery powered fan on my nursery, but then when my other hens go on the roost they are very hot. It’s 95 out. I have another chorded indoor fan I can put in there for the night and point at the roost but now sure how well that will help. Heat wave ends after tomorrow thank goodness

Hens and chicks

Hi everyone. I have a hen that hatched chicks, when do I allow her to go out with the rest of the flock? She is overheating in the little nursery, I have just put a fan there for her, I’m not sure if that will help or not. I had to take away her cardboard nesting box because she was sitting in it and overheating, or wanting to lay in the cold sand and then knocking her food and water over. It’s about 80 degrees outside today.

I worry because I have ramps for the door, will the chicks be able to climb this? I have 12 other chickens, including a rooster.

At what point do you let mama hen and babies out with the rest of the flock?

I’ve got them in their own little area for now. Just wondering when it’s safe to let her out.. at 1 week?

Chicken with eye issues

This girl is about 4 months old, she came to me with a crusted/swollen shut eye. She is totally fine otherwise, she eats drinks and poops normally. No eggs yet because of her age.

Every so often she’ll have some eye issues (in the same eye) but it doesn’t seem to affect her. Is it something I should be worried about?
I have a barn cat that has FHV.. this reminds me of that. She is totally fine, just gets a wonky eye every so often?

Am I asking too much of my bridesmaids for the morning of?

I have 5 bridesmaids. My ceremony is at 1pm, so my hair and makeup people recommended they come early in the morning (they said 7am)

I was telling my one bridesmaid this, and she said that was too early for her, and that she will just come when her makeup and hair time is scheduled. I told her I had been in a bridal party before, and usually the schedule will fluctuate.

I said I was hoping to make it a fun morning for us all, I was planning to get them all something as a thank you gift, and planned breakfast and mimosas etc. I said “I think it would be fun if we were all there in the morning, even just the first couple hours” and she said “but why”

Then she started talking about how her boyfriend will have to hang out by himself at the venue until the ceremony. I said he could always drop her off, or she is welcome to stay at the venue the night before with us, and she said no.

I feel super awkward. Am I asking too much?

My partner M30 never seems to want to hang out with me F25

My partner and I both get weekends off. I do an extra curricular on Saturday mornings but then have the afternoons and Sundays off. He wants to hang out with his friends every single weekend. I am a homebody. I am totally fine to hang out with his friends, but it had been 4 weekends in a row, and I asked if we could hang out just the two of us this weekend. Last week when I asked, he said for sure. He planned a dinner at a nearby town and a walk along the beach afterwards. The entire dinner he complained about the restaurant, then on the way home he drove right past the beach. I asked if we were going for a walk and he said he was tired. So we went home and went to bed. This morning, Sunday, we woke up and I made us breakfast. He then said that we could go to lunch with his friends that we saw last weekend. I asked if we could do something just with us, and he got upset. He said he wants to see his friends, and he doesn’t want to hang out with just me and him. He said I “never want to go out with people” and all I do is sit at home. I told him this was simply not true as the past 4 weekends I had been out with him. He said that I “never hung out with my friends” but I had gone for dinner with my own friends 2 nights ago? He said he has no friendships anymore because I always make him hang out with just me. I started crying and he said I was way too sensitive and needed to toughen up. I wasn’t even saying anything at this point just looking at the ground and he was getting louder and telling me that I cry every single day and that I have something wrong with me because I cry too much. He kept talking and I finally said he was being emotionally abusive. Then he walked out, and drove to his friends house.

I’m not sure what to do or how to deal with this situation I feel like a complete loser

I live a lonely life

My therapist said my life is lonely. I never thought to use that word to describe my life because I have close family and friends who I talk to. But I don’t tell them stuff. I am engaged and I would be so embarrassed. They would tell me to not marry him. Or my parents tell me it’s just a fight and everyone fights.

I have health problems that make my menstrual cycles really messed up. I’m on my 3rd period this month and I had to leave work because it was so bad. Because I was home, I decided to go through our dreaded laundry pile. Most of it was mine, but I put aside my fiances stuff. My fiance texted me how hungry he was and I said I didn’t have dinner plans cause I wasn’t feeling great. He offered to pick up McDonald’s, then changed his mind 30 minutes later and said he’d cook Mac and cheese at home. I said I was fine with that. Usually I am the one who does the cooking cleaning and everything when he gets home. He will just sit on the couch doom scrolling tik tok videos. It’s like he’s not even watching them, he’s just scrolling so fast. If I ask him to put his phone down or if we can talk, he says we have nothing to talk about. Or he’ll groan and sigh. I asked him when he got home if he could fold his laundry since I did my pile, and I had cleaned up our shared bedroom while I was at it. He said sure, then said “are you making dinner or am I?” It felt a bit like a jab at me, but I didn’t feed into it and asked if it was ok if he made dinner tonight. He put the pot on the stove and then went to start folding his laundry then threw it all back on the floor and said “there’s no room in the dresser for any of this” then went to the couch on his tik tok.
I went to the bathroom and had bled right through everything. Everything hurts and I’m so uncomfortable and gross feeling I started crying. He asked if there was anything he could do for me or if he needs to go get supplies for me at the store and I said yes please I need more pads. I said I would go with him and he said he would go alone. I said he wouldn’t know what to get, but if he drove I’ll go in with him. He said he would just FaceTime me in the store. I felt bad doing that so I said it was fine I’ll go with him.
When I cleaned myself up and was ready to go he was sitting on the couch on tik tok. I asked if he was going to go with me and he said “do you need me to?” And I was a bit confused.. was he not the one who offered? I said if he didn’t want to it was okay and he said “I do not really want to, but if you need me to I’ll come I guess”

It felt manipulative or something. I ended up not even going because I felt so uncomfortable and I didn’t want to go by myself, the only clean pants I had were pajamas and I was so emotional and tired and in pain I didn’t feel like it.

I sat on the couch and he fell asleep so he went to the bedroom and now I’m out in the living room sleeping on the couch because i feel if I sleep in the bed it makes everything ok in his head, but I know I’m not ok with this. It seems like it’s not ok. Or I’m being dramatic cause I’m on my third period of the month I don’t even know. Sorry for the long post
