I'm running for city council

Hi Abbotsford, I'm Jeremy Klix and I'm running for city council. I've got some ideas like improving our transit, and expanding out community and recreation centres, but I'd really like to hear what changes you want to see in Abbotsford and what you think city council could do to make Abbotsford better.

37F - Looking for someone to rescue me from my apartment tonight

I’ve spent the last two days staring at my computer and my brain has officially filed a complaint.

37F in Abbotsford. Looking for a fun, normal-ish single guy who wants to grab food, a drink, and have an actual conversation.😏

Not looking for a pen pal.
Not looking for endless texting.
Not looking for drama.
Just hoping to meet someone funny, easygoing, and capable of holding a conversation without immediately irritating me. (Apparently that’s become a very specific requirement tonight. 😅)

If you’re local, single, and interested in grabbing dinner or a drink, send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself.

Bonus points if you can recommend somewhere better than me sitting in my apartment questioning my life choices.

Rumbling/booming noise

Live by Rotary Stadium, and there’s been this persistent (but distant) noise for the last hour or so. Anyone else hear it, and/or know what it is? Thanks in advance!

Way too many police out there today

Could barely speed anywhere, they were around every corner. So glad our tax dollars are wasted patrolling backroads while canada is the money laundering haven in the western world, guess they got nothing better to do

Invisible Boy by Harrison Mooney, a book about growing up Black in the '90s in Abbotsford

I just started listening to this audiobook (non-fiction) about a Black boy who was adopted by a white family in Abbotsford in the '80s. He mostly talks about his experience growing up in the '90s and early 2000s. I'm a couple years older than him, and he was mostly homeschooled so I don't know if I ever ran into him, but I moved to Abbotsford in 1991 and left there until the early 2000s. Has anyone else read this book? Any thoughts?

This is not a yield or a stop sign.

The amount of people that treat this as a yield or stop sign is insane. That lane on the right is your lane. You don’t need to stop in the middle of the road.

Best Indian Restaurant in Abby?

IMO, it's still Gian's despite there being more restaurants in Abby now. It's taste and selection is still up there with the other top ones, they still have their lunch and now late night weekend buffets and they're not as expensive as Tasty's or Sahota's.

Looking for local DND Group

Like the title says, looking for a group local to Abbotsford or Mission that plays DND. Fairly new, just a few months in but am thoroughly enjoying it and would like to find a second group to join.

Library Friendship Garden

I think this place is beautiful honestly. Wish there were flowers though.

Share your story

I grew up in Abbotsford , born and raised, and I’m curious about the city’s history. Are there any local ghost stories, haunted places, urban legends, or creepy experiences that people know about? Also, are there any major historical events, unsolved mysteries, or lesser-known facts about Abbotsford that more people should know? I’d love to hear your stories or anything interesting you’ve come across.

Abbotsford to downtown with a toddler

First-time parents with a toddler here! We want to head downtown to check out all the FIFA festivities, but our only concern is our toddler's nap. How did you guys manage naps? Ideally we would drive there

Just trying to figure out the best way to make it work!
