[TOMT] What is the movie described in this book?
Reading My Loose Thread by Dennis Cooper and I’m wondering if this movie is real. Can’t figure it out. Book came out in 2002.
“I can’t believe I remembered this movie. It was already old when I saw it. An actor my age (my edit: the character is a teenager) played this guy who’d gone insane on maybe drugs, but was trying to be sane. He was with some sane friends when his insane friends showed up. They yelled his name. He walked half way to them, then got confused. I think they weren’t the point. So he sat down right there in the middle. I mean he left his future direction to them. I think his sane friends liked him more, but his insane friends didn’t think before they did anything. So they got to him first. That might have just happened to me, but not exactly. At the end of the movie, the guy had gone so insane he pulled a gun on his dad. His dad killed him in self-defense, and it was tragic for everyone he’d ever known. It won’t be like that for me.”
