What games did you expect to like but fell flat?

I love interactive games and bidding/auction is my favorite mechanism. My favorite games include power grid, rising sun and most Knizia classics like samurai, through the desert and RA.

I'm usually pretty good at researching and finding games I'd enjoy. However there were a few games I thought would be right up my alley but fell completely flat. What's that game for you?

Here are mine:

Tigris and Euphrates - doesn't feel as elegant as Knizia's other tile layers. Everyone says you just need to play more to understand the game but one thing that makes Knizia great is simple rulesets and excellent first play experience even for casual gamers. T&E almost feels like something against his design philosophy.

Hansa Teutonica - the interaction is there but I don't understand what makes this kicking other people off their spots and profiting from being kicked interaction fun.

Keyflower - I think the main issue is the iconography and overall artistic design. And maybe a lack of direction? Never felt engaged with the game.

Canada Day Tickets $100

Unfortunately I can no longer go to the game. I'm selling a pair in section 524 row 20 for $100 each (much lower than Ticketmaster)

DM if interested!
