Am I wrong for feeling upset?
My husband’s older brother is set to get married this year. His fiancé is from Peru and they are planning to hold a wedding there to ensure her side of the family gets to experience their big day. Prior to their wedding in Peru they will be having a chapel wedding in the state we all live in. We will absolutely be attending the in state wedding and I have even offered to help plan it since the girlfriend’s parents/sister live out of state. Recently my Husband told his Mom that he was unsure if he would be attending the Peru wedding due to the fact that we have a 2 year old, and are expecting a new baby in August. Baby will be roughly 4-5 months at the time of the wedding and it is around the time that my maternity leave will be ending, which means a whole new routine for our family regarding having two kids and daycare drop offs. His Mom told him it is absolutely necessary that he is at the Peru wedding and told him I will be just fine without him, since it’s our second baby I know what I’m doing and won’t need him. Not to mention the price of the trip for just him will be at least $2,000 when said and done- which is enough for our whole family to go on a vacation together! I feel really upset that they are just making this decision for us. Am I overreacting?
