Next steps?

Have been aggressive with ACV and debridement. Currently walking with crutches because of the pain.

What are my next steps? Should I just let the scab heal? Also, does it look like it's gone? Can't tell if the dark spots are dried blood or black dots.

EDIT: should be "perpetual withdrawal rate"

38m, 36f -- 4 kids under 12. Medium to high cost of living in Mid-Atlantic region.

$17.5m liquid ($500k tbills, rest is split 80/20 voo/vxus). Of this, about $1m is in retirement accts.

Home is worth about $650k with $400k mortgage at 2.5%.

Have $1m set aside (not included in above numbers) for an all-cash vacation home purchase on the East Coast (a place we've visited 5 yrs straight now).

Spend is $250k after taxes. I'm mentally putting this at $300k/yr after summer home purchase.

We have a small business that earns about $1m - $1.5m annually pre-tax. I know Im a bit ridiculously but the business takes up about 15 hours a week right now. I'm making staffing changes that will get this to 5 hours a week. But as fellow entrepreneurs know, the mental burden/emotion drain can be around the clock. So I'm considering closing it down at some point. (It's not a sell-able asset.) The business earned big during the pandemic (I shoved everything I could into index funds) and now stabilized at the above mentioned earnings.

Our goal is to leave a good deal of money to our kids and future grandkids. We're teaching stewardship and thriftiness and entrepreneurship and planning. But between kids with moderate special needs and other things, I'd like to leave a lot to them.

How do you think through perpetual growth rates (withdrawing without hitting principle plus growing the portfolio over time.)?

I've run portfolio visualizer and Claude and Gemini to project things out and they collectively tell me to assume a 4.25-6% real rate of return.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
