Full time job and full time degree

Does anyone have a full time job but is also doing a full time degree? I started the law degree with OU last October, and all was fine…… the work load was manageable and I was feeling great about my protectiveness of being a 19 year old, attaining a degree, whilst also working full time. Genuinely I thought I had finessed the system of education. It was like my very own degree apprenticeship but whilst being paid double the amount degree apprentices are paid.

Anyways my smugness is turning into despair, since my second module started in Feb, but obviously my first module won’t finish til early June. My 2 days off from work a week are spent stressing about how I might not manage to finish everything I needed for the week. I’ve had to have extensions on all my assessments since the second module started. I don’t remember the last time I had a day to relax because I have so much uni work to get on with. I think I’m also now in the burnout stage. I have a month of content to get through from my second module and a TMA and 3 units left and my emTMA04 to complete for my first module. All of this needs to be done in the next 14 days.

I’m exited for my first module to end soon, because I won’t have as much to get through, however come September I’ll have my 3rd module to start and this whole thing will start again.

I guess I’m asking whether this is attainable for another 2 years? I have already managed to get an extra day off of work every other week to help with the backlog, but I defo cannot get anymore than that.

Does anyone have any skills or advice, or coping mechanisms? I’m open to anything that may help me to get on top of this, as it would be my proudest achievement to complete this degree whilst working full time.

The only thing I won’t do is switch to part time, as I actually couldn’t think of anything worse than to do this for 6 years. I love my degree and I find it so interesting but I cannot still be doing my undergrad at 25 years old. It just doesn’t feel proactive or efficient for me!

Any help is very welcomed!

Yours sincerely,
A law student who has probably bitten off more than she can chew!
