ITS sexual harassment
Let's call it what it is... ITS sexual harassment. What’s disgusting about this is that everyone already knows exactly what kind of behavior this is, but because he hides behind being “playful” nothing gets done. Grown men in management positions should not be constantly winking at, staring at, and finding excuses to flirt with student workers half their age. The fact that multiple female students say he makes them uncomfortable should already be enough of a red flag. At some point it stops being “harmless joking” and becomes a pattern of creepy, unprofessional behavior that people are forced to tolerate because he knows how to stay just barely within the line.
I don't understand why females in the workplace have to constantly adjust their behavior or quit because of a person in authority is abusing their power. UCI dining proves that if you have a problem with management nothing will get done, and that's exhausting.
What makes it even more frustrating is that even women in positions of authority brush off his behavior. Imagine finally working up the courage to confide in someone you think will understand or defend you, only for them to minimize it, ignore it, or act like it’s not a big deal. There needs to be an end to this behavior.
