Can I have help with my helix piercing?

so, I got my helix pierced over 12 months ago now, and I thought I’d be in the clear to change the earring from a flat back to a flat barred sleeper- but it’s subsequently become very inflamed and ‘woundy’, despite not hurting? the new earring I bought wasn’t cheap (gold earring w an embarrassingly high price tag that I thought would prevent this issue) can anyone maybe explain what’s happening and what I am best to do? (image shows what my piercing currently looks like after I switched it back out after a couple weeks of wearing the new one - I am aware of how it looks do not worry)

(this is my second attempt posting this bc I don’t quite get how reddit works)

(the following is for the mods)

my piercing is 18 months old

a titanium flat back, internally threaded (now)

A gold straight bar hoop, clicker (caused problem)

I don’t really have much of an aftercare routine atm

ive not had anything happen in which I could trace this issue back to
