Never owned an e-bike before, but considering purchasing a used one. Two different friends both have e-bikes that they have hardly used, and trying to decide with is best deal, or neither. Retired so no commuting, so just casual ridding, and probably wife and I will share. Street riding, and some gravel.

Both have less than 10 total hours of use. Rad Mini St2 approx. 3 years old for $900, versus Bolton step-thru (not sure on model) which is probably 5 years old for $1,000 (with some accessories upgrade}.

Questions:

1. Concern about battery life and replacement, plus fire hazard
2. Service availability locally in Sacramento, CA area
3. Class 2 or 3 for each bike
4. Pros and Cons
5. Asking Prices Reasonably
