Glasgow airport to Milngavie transportation

Edit: I’m waking up to so many thoughtful and informative responses. Thank you all so much for taking the time to suggest options. It is very much appreciated!

Hello and thanks in advance, all! My understanding is that one option to get from GLA to Milngavie is a bus (#500) to Queen Street station and then a train to Milngavie. I'm a Canadian who's not very familiar with your public transportation systems, particularly the rail system. What kinds of payment are accepted on the bus? Do train tickets need to be booked in advance or are they purchased at the Queen Street station? This is for 3 people traveling together on Sat August 22

Is it worth taking a taxi instead? If yes, do taxis need to be booked in advance

For the return from Fort William to Glasgow, is the train the best option? Again, should tickets be booked in advance? (Sun August 30)

3 person camping at Kinlochleven

My son and two friends are camping the WHW in August. The Blackwater campground specifically mentions that they allow 2 person tents only, and their other accommodations are booked up. Is their best option wild camping in the Kinlochleven vicinity?

Best mid-size SUV for senior with long, stiff back and reduced mobility - need tall door opening

My mom and dad need to replace a Nissan Qashqai that was recently in an accident. My dad doesn't drive anymore and has very low mobility, but needs to be able to get to medical appointments so is often a passenger. Although he's not tall overall, his back is unusually long and his flexibility is bad so he's not able to bend easily to get into and out of vehicles. The Qashqai was ok when they bought it, but recently it was getting very difficult for him to enter and exit. They have a rented Rogue now which is ok-ish. I recently went out looking at vehicles with my mom. We think the Mitsubishi Outlander or Mazda CX5 might work for him (he's not mobile enough to shop with us). The RAV4, Ford Explorer, and Volvos were all absolute no-gos. I have inherited my dad's long back and when I tried to get in, my head hit the topside of the door opening. There's no way he could get in those.

On the flip side, my mom who does all the driving is quite small and short. She feels overwhelmed in the mid-sized SUVs, but understands that she might not have a choice.

We'll be going again tomorrow to look at Subarus and Honda. I know this is a very difficult combination of needs. Are there any other vehicles we should be considering? I don't think she wants to spend luxury car prices, but if there were something perfect out there for my dad she might consider it.
