Barcelona Paddock Club next week

Hi all! My wife and I will be doing the Paddock Club in Barcelona in a couple weeks. It will be our first time attending a race so we’re very excited.

Any tips or things we should be considering for the experience? We are doing everything (hotel, transfers, etc.) through F1 Experiences.

Thanks!

Recomp progress with actual data

Just wrapped up about 5 months of a body recomp and figured I’d share since I always appreciate seeing progress posts from normal people who have jobs, kids, and only moderate amounts of self control.

Overall, pretty happy with it.

Lost a solid amount of fat, held onto most (hopefully all) of my muscle, and did it without hopping on anything hormonal.

A little background:

•	36 years old

•	busy dad with a job that includes enough travel and client dinners to make dieting annoying

•	built a decent muscle base from college football and about 20 years of lifting consistently

•	also started from a helpful place: carrying a lot of “hard-earned” holiday fluff from eating like a raccoon over the 2025 holidays

Bloodwork

Got labs done in March:

•	testosterone was mid range, which honestly I was happy to see

•	SHBG was elevated, but apparently that can happen when you stay in a calorie deficit too long

Hoping that chills out now that calories come back up.

Body comp tracking

Used a Hume scale daily. I know scale body fat % is basically horoscope data, but the trend line seemed consistent enough to be useful. That’s what I cared about.

Diet

Started around 2300 calories/day.

Had to drop to 2100 when progress slowed in April.

April was not my finest dieting month:

•	lots of work travel

•	multiple client dinners

•	several nights where I chose “memories” over “macros”

I wasn’t willing to become the guy ordering grilled chicken and sparkling water while everyone else was having fun.

Protein goal was 200g/day.

Actual average was probably closer to 175g/day.

Not ideal. Still worked.

Supplements

Nothing exciting:

•	5g creatine every day

•	an irresponsible amount of whey protein

Could I have gotten leaner? Definitely.

Could I have taken it more seriously? Also yes.

But for a 36 year old dad trying to fit this into real life, I’m pretty happy with the result.
