What does your worst morning actually look like, and what's the one thing that's ever actually helped you start your day?
Hey guys, I've been in an ADHD slump for a bit too long now, so I decided to make this account dedicated to getting my life back on track.
A little about me: I'm in my early 30s, with dual master's from prestigious universities. On paper, everything sounds extraordinary; however, I don't have a focused and steady career path, nor do I feel accomplished (been unemployed for a while). Especially since graduating, without real deadlines and structure, I kind of let ADHD take over and I've now realized that I wasted too much time and potential.
It's time for a change, and I want to start with how I start the day.
Guys, when your ADHD is winning and the day goes sideways before it even starts (one of those days), what does that actually look like for you from the moment you wake up?
For me, I wake up, immediately start scrolling to "wake my brain up". Then the thought of going out to get coffee, or even making coffee, feels too much. Then I get paralyzed thinking whether I should eat first (requires cooking) or go to the gym first (requires fuel), and before I know it, it's 2 pm and I haven't accomplished anything. Then I accept the defeat and continue to rot the day away, hoping tomorrow is a better one.
And if anything has ever genuinely helped you get started in the morning, not just temporarily but actually worked for you, I'd be curious to know too!
