Help with VIN verification in West Knoxville
Hi, I am looking for any police officer near West Knoxville to see if they can help me verify my VIN. About 3 months ago my grandfather helped me purchase my car. We put it solely under his name since he would get a much better interest rate than I would, and I would make the payments. Well he lives in FL so the car would have to be registered in FL which was no problem. The issue began when he didn't tell anyone in the family he would having heart surgery within the next week or so. Apparently the County Clerk in FL was calling him trying to let him know that the VIN on the vehicle needed to be verified to complete the title work and he was not answering. I found out what was going on when I called the dealership to see where the plates were and what was going on since my temp tag was going to expire that day. They gave me the form to have the VIN verified but by the time they got back to me it was too late to drive the car to any police station to have it done. I've literally called everywhere. Everyone I call routes me to somewhere else where "it can be done". I've spoken with multiple police stations, Officers, TN department of revenue, County clerks office, dealerships, TN highway patrol, and even went to the dmv (which is where on of the officers told me to go). I'm just lot and can't drive my car. If any police officer can please help me, I would appreciate it so much.
