Has anyone quit their job effective immediately and it all worked out in the end?

I’m currently in a toxic work situation that is taking a toll on my mental health. The new VP is putting a lot of pressure on me to get a massive project done by myself when it would typically require 6-8 people. I expressed my overwhelm and potential burnout and the response lacked any compassion and was basically a lot of corporate speak for “suck it up and do your job” I want to quit but is it even a good idea without having another role lined up? It’s really impacting my mental health to the point where I’m procrastinating sleep because falling asleep means the morning comes faster where I have to go back to work.
