What is your least favorite twist in a thriller?

For me, it is that the serial killer/kidnapper (whatever it may be) is a teenager. Not saying that it’s impossible. But hard for me to imagine some 15/16 year old did everything that happens. I have at least 2 books that I’ve read that had this twist and it reduced my rating of the book because of it.

Two Kinds of Stranger x Steve Cavanagh

Finished this book yesterday. On TikTok, I saw it was highly recommended, but honestly I was disappointed. I’ve read 2 other books by Steve Cavanagh, which I have enjoyed.

With a thriller, I expect a twist and for it to be a good one. The twist of this book was Grace (Logan’s girlfriend) killing him. To me, that just wasn’t interesting.

  1. I kind of expected it
  2. We barely knew Grace. There wasn’t a lot of character development for it to be shocking.

I am curious of others thoughts.
