Kouri is 110% guilty in my book, zero doubt there. She is an absolute monster.

However given that both of Eric's sisters pleaded with him to get a divorce, and if Eric was aware that his sickness 17 days prior was from Kouri poisoning him as well as her 'non-matrimonial' conduct why in gods name would he drink something prepared by Kouri?

Its ironic that he stayed to protect his boys and ended up paying the ultimate price that saw Kouri put away for life.
