Major Issues after installing Canvas on CC1
I just recently installed the Canvas system and getting an assortment of issues. Now I expect to encounter a certain level/number of issues and quirks with the new setup. It just comes with the territory with something being so new.
However, the type of issues I am having is making my head hurt. I opened a couple support cases but they have not been helpful. The only question I keep getting asked if I am using the same type of filament for all colors... (Yes, yes I am.)
I am experiencing the following problems:
- Random Air Prints - While mid-printing/Mid-Layer, the filament feed will just "stop" then start feeding again leaving a small gap in the model.
- Multi-Color Flushing - It's hit or miss on this one, but the flushing just doesn't happen sometimes when swapping colors. So when it goes to print the next layer its a mix of both colors.
- Multi-Color Printing: On the flip side I have instances where it Flushes perfectly fine but will air print when actually printing the model. It's switches back to the other filament and prints just fine. this will go on for a couple layers then print both colors just fine for a while, then do it again.
I have tried:
- Adjusting the contact pressure in the gearbox thinking it might have been that, but saw no improvements.
- Used different filaments and different filament types. (PLA vs. PETG)
- In the screenshot that's PLA (Black) and PLA Matte (Blue). I did try PLA|PLA with the same results
- Note: I made sure that the filaments I am using have the same temp needs.

- Changed the order of filaments (e.g. black in slot 1, blue in slot 2 then black in slot 2 and blue in slot 1)
- Changed settings in slicer for flushing.
- Used different nozzles
- Taken the entire print head apart and rechecked all the connections and looked for any clogs.
It would be one thing if this was happening at the same spots on each print but so far it has been random and at different points/locations on the model.
I am wondering if I got a dud for gearbox or filament hub? But if that is true, why does it work sometimes and not consistently failing?
I am starting to loose my patience with this given the lack of help from support. I would really appreciate any guidance I can get here to figuring this out.
