Time flies

bro time flies way too fast like 2010-2013 borns are already teens and we thought they were just little kids and most gen z are adults while the zalphas are the teenagers now

u/DoughnutFirm4113 — 18 hours ago

My opinion of gen z cutoffs

Bro why are generations so strict generations are not hard borders they are fuzzy cultural lines and this is why generations are a mess

u/DoughnutFirm4113 — 18 hours ago

Hi I'm 2009 born can me and my 2013 born sister be zalpha (just zalpha no leaning Z or alpha nonsense)

I think I belong to Zalpha rather than pure Z and I think same goes for my sister and I think that we should use microgens

I'm a 2009 born Why do you guys keep forgetting that 2013 is a cusper

Like I see a lot of shorts online saying:

  • 1997-2009 WE'RE GEN Z
  • 2010-2012 I'm standing here sitting alone
  • 2013-2025 WE'RE GEN ALPHA

like does anyone forget that 2013 is a cusper they clearly have a lot of gen z influence and experiences and also I find more posts online saying

1995-1999: Zillennials

2000-2009: Gen Z

2010-2012: Zalpha

2013-2017: Gen Alpha

2018-2023: Core Alpha

like guys seriously 2013 is cusper and I think being a 2009 born I belong to zalpha

Being a 2010 born I think that generations shouldn't have an end point I think it should all just be gradual

Like for instance 2010-2014 borns (yes there are people who say 2013 is gen z and even 2014) say they are gen z however even though they are usually alpha as well they usually call themselves Zalpha like zillennials, xennials and I think the range should be 2009-2015 it may seem broad but it is my opinion

reddit.com
u/DoughnutFirm4113 — 8 days ago

Look guys if you were given a choice what to end gen z in AND YOU CANNOT USE the overrated 2012 cutoff or the trash 2009 cutoff what would it be

(it can be 2010,2011,2013,2014 etc like literally generations are subjective anyways and please stop saying that "Ooooh 2010-2012 are the last gen z and 2013 is the first alpha" even if you wanted to say that beware that some people may get offended)

reddit.com
u/DoughnutFirm4113 — 8 days ago

OK here me out what are the Zalpha ranges to you

2010-2014

2010-2015

2009-2012

2008-2013

2006-2012 (gross)

2008-2012

2009-2014

2008-2014

2009-2015

2010-2016

Ok since zalpha has no official range what are others and what do you think off them

Microgens explained

(Note microgens aren't real generations there is no official range just like regular generations and it is just an informal label that everyone says it is official)

Xennials: 1977-1984 (my opinion)

Zillennials: 1994-1999

Zalpha: 2010-2015

reddit.com
u/DoughnutFirm4113 — 12 days ago

(My personal tier list) Which Gen Alpha years (I'll be using the 2010-2024 range by McCrindle for this one) is the most stereotypically gen alpha

  1. 2019

  2. 2018

  3. 2020

  4. 2021

  5. 2017

  6. 2022

  7. 2023

  8. 2016

  9. 2024 (probably cusper Gen Alpha-Beta)

  10. 2015 (gen alpha with zalpha influence)

  11. 2014 (gen alpha with zalpha influence)

  12. 2013 (definitely zalpha)

  13. 2012 (definitely zalpha)

  14. 2011 (definitely zalpha)

  15. 2010 (definitely zalpha)

Why don't you guys include 2013 in gen Z

A lot of people say Gen Z ends in early 2010s however what people don't realize is that 2013 is also early 2010s just like 2010-2012 borns and are also teens with them and besides you may argue that "Ooooh tablets are already dominant in 2013" which is true but in reality 2010-2012 borns wouldn't even remember a life before tablets just like 2013 and also they have strong memories of the 2010s and didn't grow up with brainrot.

look this is subjective no one has authority to define generations, even if you wanted to say 2013 is gen alpha don't just start to make it part of the blame. This is why microgens such as zillennials (1994-1999 roughly) and zalpha (2009-2014 roughly) exist. So do you really think January 1 2013 and December 31 2012 borns are in different generations and saying that December 31 2012 borns are more connected to literal adults born in january 1 1997

Generations don't change overnight it is more of a gradual transition

my solution is (refer to the picture on top)

▲ 2 r/generationology+1 crossposts

What do you think of these generation ranges of gen z (subjective opinion it is fine if you choose a cutoff but don't try to tell everyone it is official and objective)

1995-2009 B tier (McCrindle)

1995-2010 A tier

1997-2011 S tier (my personal favorite)

1997-2012 S- Tier (Pew research)

1998-2013 A+ Tier

1997-2013 S- Tier (US. Census in a 2022 report)

1995-2012 B Tier (Dr. Jean Twenge)

1996-2012 B tier

1998-2014 (wait what) C Tier

1995-2015 (you've gotta be kidding) D tier

2001-2018 (yes I actually found this nonsensical cutoff once but I forgot what source it is) FFFFF Tier

oh yeah and since this is from late 2000s to early 2010s (2013 is part of early 2010s so why do you not include it if it ends roughly in the early 2010s why not include 2013)
