Looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with German roaches during pregnancy.

We recently moved into a house that had a previous German cockroach problem. Before we moved in, the house was treated by a professional pest control company. We’ve now been living here for about a month and hadn’t seen any signs of roaches at all.

A few weeks ago our pest control guy came back to inspect and didn’t find any evidence of active activity. We felt pretty good that the issue had been resolved.

Then this week, I went into the bathroom at night and found a cockroach on the rug. Later that same night, I found another one in the kitchen after the lights had been off. Needless to say, I completely panicked.

The bigger issue is that I’m currently 6 months pregnant. We contacted our pest control company and the conversation left us even more anxious. Our pest guy basically made it sound like there were limitations on what treatments could be done while I’m pregnant, and now we’re worried about making the wrong decision.

Obviously, we don’t want to do anything that could pose a risk to the baby. At the same time, we also don’t want to ignore a potential German roach problem and let it get worse.

Has anyone dealt with German roaches while pregnant? What treatment methods did you use? Did your pest control company recommend gel baits, bait stations, sticky traps, IGRs, sprays, or something else? Were there any treatments your OB specifically recommended avoiding?

We’re trying to figure out the safest and most effective approach and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar.
