My boyfriend has recently gotten into riding motorcycles. We have been together for seven months. He has started writing SS bolts on everything along with swastikas when I bring it to his attention that it is wildly offensive and disrespectful, he blows it off by saying it’s a joke. It has continued to make me uncomfortable. I do feel like I need some insight here. This is my first time being in a relationship with a white man and I don’t know if this is maybe something that they just do? It is really making me reconsider our relationship as a whole occasionally he makes jokes that lead me to believe that maybe this is his thought process. I thought that maybe him getting into motorcycles could have something to do with this behavior due to most of the motorcycle clubs in our area being primarily white. My belief system goes against everything that he is saying and doing, and I don’t know if our views and morals lineup. So am I the asshole for considering leaving my boyfriend over his drawings and comments?
