Don't Worry Guys! (Vent/assuring? sorta post)
Been a while since I posted, and there's a good reason behind it, (as always there's a TL;DR at the end)
There's a number of new people and I don't see my old fellow posters and commenters a lot now a days, that we had a year ago, guess they too are sitting back and relaxing eh?
I have stopped looking into Capitano leaks and yearning and hopium and copium, because I just know (and WE ALL Know) He is playable, and it's just the waiting game that we have to play. So it's more like i'm just chilling and galloping in the grass without any worries about Capitano, and yeah patiently waiting.
But what worries people (fortunately, not me, because I'm not "expecting" anything... no expectations at all) Is how he will be handled by Hoyo, which is understandable and since people love a character it is valid to worry how their favorite character is going to be Canonically, i'm not saying it's bad to have expectations, it's just i don't expect much, im not keeping a bar-standard so when he eventually comes out i won't be disappointed.
I got the urge to make a post today after watching the Nicole teaser that was released today, gave me a good strong faith and not hope, but a strong believe that Capitano Will have his own and proper content just like how relevant characters get, without any sort of problems.
But by far I'm seeing a really good pattern, Characters that are important to the story they are presented and handled very very well, unlike some made up hype sorta thing (side eyeing Mavuika... love her btw)
Our Capitano is not lacking behind in being relevant to the story and also being an important character.
What you're about to read is just a personal opinion, i can be absolutely wrong, but it's just my observation and experience.
Wtv happened with Varka, he was teased for years, shown and hyped n all, I like him as a story character but he was very very side character-y iykwim? like throughout NK quest he only played this sort of Dad role (which is honestly cute!! not hating) but it wasn't as prominent (personal opinion! don't kill me T-T) unlike other side characters like Sandrone? Nicole? Arle (with the moon marrow and all), he was there as a strong backup, he did pull down the Moon Absolutely, but Lore? yeah he had his turn durin the Mondstadt Event and all but... honestly? Nah... he's good unit and he's a strong canon character yes i'm not hating him or the game or the writing, it was all alright and how it should've been (i guess?) but! Varka's hype died so fast given how he was hyped since the last 4-5 years...
take Linnea, such a recent Character but her release and relevance was just to introduce us to Fae lore and the Angle stuff related to the Temple of space (a very simplified version of what i have read and all, if i missed out on anything please lmk! I'm not hating her! She's cute!) All i'm saying is that there are characters that are made to be very side line-y but then...
there are character that were, are still, and will be important even when they have been released, take Zhongli, Nahida, Columbina (so much more Moon lore!) Childe, Arle (moon again) Neuvillette (and so many more) who were, are and WILL BE relevant for Future Lore Content.
but when it comes to Capitano? Should we worry about him getting sided again? will that happen?
It won't!
Look Canonically Capitano has a very important Role, he saved an entire nation, he saved an archon from putting herself to death, he's managing the Leylines of Natlan, He's still holding his post as #1 in Fatui, he's still have a lot to unpack when it comes to Khaenri'ah. He is overall VERY Important, to the game, to the lore, to the nation(s), to other characters he's been affiliated with.
So He will be handled quite well, and we don't need to worry too much about patterns, guys Chill! I understand we are downbad and tired of waiting and hoping for the best but... they'll show his content only when they have to and want to and when it's relevant, and we don't know for sure what's 'relevant' to them.
He already has an animation even when he's not playable yet, he is relevant for future content as well, with the Mare Jivari and All, plus the Eclipse Dynasty lore, AS WELL AS Rerir... I do think we might get some Rerir crumbs somwhere down the line given that they're both from the same nation.
He is Quite important and relevant to the story so there'll be no fk ups, he will not be Varka-d. (sorry Varka-mains i love you all.)
TL;DR.
what i yapped is-
He is playable, don't keep any strong expectations, he is very relevant to the story, to the nations, to the characters, to the future lore, so we don't have to worry about him getting sidelined, or have any sort of bad handling, like certain characters in the story.
