The pain of being multi fandom...but anyways, I wanna compare PJSK characters (including Virtual Singers!) to the Harbingers. Day 1: Capitano

My personal opinion is that he's a bit like Kanade. Idk, cuz carrying burdens? Or Toya.

So I read this somewhere which instantly starts making sense when you start thinking about it and which I'm gonna expand upon here.

This post is kind of a copy-paste that I originally posted on Dottore Mains but since it directly connects with Capitano, I've decided to repost it here as well, and gives us all new POVs to look at things. Here it is below:

We know both Dottore and Capitano are coming back. We know both of them have received tons story and lore points setting up their return, especially Dottore in 6.6, but the question is "when will they return ?"

Just like Columbina, they both are among the "Big 3" harbingers, and as part of the Big 3, they are bound to received SUPER special treatments when they release - What I mean by that is, when Mihoyo's getting ready to release Capitano and Dottore, they both will receive their own dedicated patch cycles, their own exclusive Nations/Sub-Nations, GREATLY Expanded lore and story in the form of massive Archon Quests, and the likes

Because people need to realize one thing - The Tsaritsa is the last of the 7 Archons. After her, Mihoyo needs another "Big hype Archon-level faction" to sell. Columbina was a big social experiment in seeing if they can do that and they succeeded with big numbers

Meaning that after 7.x, we can either receive Archon level treatment for both Capitano and Dottore as main patch cycles, or they can just jump straight to Khaenriah with 8.x and then jump to Capitano and Dottore Sagas with 9.x and 10.x. Maybe even combine the Dark Sea together with their inclusion, just like how they combined Kod-Krai with Schneznaya.

Ofcource, this is one of the many theories we have, and is a direct objection of the Theory of Capitano releasing around 7.4 to complete the whole 3 Year Theory and the Lunar Cycle Theory, and Pantalone eventually finding a way to resurrect him in 7.x., and while I would ideally want that so that we can get our playable men ASAP after waiting all these years, there's also a 50/50 chance, that Mihoyo will gatekeep these 2 and drag there hype as much as they really can before they can sell them, like how they did with Columbina, so if these 2 don't release in 7.x, then expect Archon-Level marketing for them with future dedicated main patch cycles

Again, we know Capitano and Dottore are coming. We know they'll be playable, but either they're becoming playable within the next 12 months from now, or a good few years, probably for when Da Wei would need the money to buy his 69th Yacht.

"Checkmate is not where the game ends." Is Pierro just trolling the Heavenly Principles (and us)?

The 6.7 leaks seem to have the community in a frenzy. I could be WAYYY OFF, but below's why I'm not convinced it's any of their "ends." I'd love to know what you all think / if you have any other in-game proof I might've missed.

1. The Rosalyne Paradox: "Liquid Fire" & The Staff of Homa

The core of my Signora theory lies in the Crimson Witch of Flames set and the Staff of Homa descriptions.

  • The Oxymoron: Fire is usually destructive and consuming, yet Rosalyne’s fire is described as "Liquid" and "Eternal."
  • The Lore: The Crimson Witch set states she "burned away her own flesh" and replaced it with "Liquid Fire" to purge the world's distortion.
  • The Homa Connection: The Staff of Homa describes a ritual where a "physician" used fire to cleanse the "impurities of the earth" so that "the soul might remain."
  • The Fatui Application: In the Pale Flame (Stainless Bloom) piece, Pierro meets her when she is nearly burnt out. He doesn't extinguish her; he "encases" the liquid fire by using a Delusion. Could her coffin simply be her next chrysalis?

2. The Capitano Paradox: The Ronova Immortality Loophole

Capitano’s sacrifice in Version 5.3 relies on the ancient laws of Ronova (the Shade of Death/Fate), specifically mentioned in the Annals of the Night Kingdom and The Pale Sun and Shadow.

  • The Oxymoron: A "Sacrificial Death" from someone who "Cannot Die."
  • The Lore: The Khaenri’an Curse (as seen with Dainsleif) is an absolute, divine mandate: "Thou shalt not return to the cycle of life."
  • The Ronova Paradox: In Natlan, a soul is required to "fuel" the Night Kingdom's defense. Capitano stepped onto the throne, offering a "death" that the system cannot process. Since he is cursed with immortality, the "Death" is never finalized.
  • The Result: He is a Living Anchor. He exists in a state of "Eternal Dying" that provides an infinite energy loop to the Night Kingdom. Also mirrors the Chilling Flame we use to open the door—the power of life (heat) existing inside the void of the afterlife (cold). Yet another version of an element "corrupted" by its opposite.

3. The Dottore Paradox: "Humanity" as a System Virus

The Pale Flame (Wise Doctor's Pin) and the 6.7 info highlight Dottore’s relationship with "truth" and "erasure."

  • The Oxymoron: Being "deleted" from existence while becoming "omnipresent."
  • The Lore: Dottore was exiled from the Akademiya for suggesting that humans are "nothing more than machines." If a human is a machine, then "consciousness" is just data.
  • The Irminsul Loophole: In the Sumeru Interlude, Nahida "deletes" Dottore’s segments. However, the Project Stuzha lore (we know very little for now) suggests Dottore found a way to "code" his consciousness into the tree itself—he's been preparing for the Burning of Irminsul for a looooong time. On top of it, who's to say she deleted the Omega Dottore?

4. Pierro’s Chessboard: The "Discard Pile" Theory

The Mocking Mask piece of the Pale Flame set states:

"Since my level of learning could not compare with the sages... I failed to stop them from tearing away the veil of sin, ushering in a tide of divine wrath, destruction, and foolishness... Then let us become a mask to mock the world as we rewrite the rules of destiny."

  • The Ultimate Paradox: To rewrite the rules of destiny, you must be "outside" of destiny.
  • The Strategy: Only the "dead" or the "erased" are free from the Heavenly Principles' gaze. By moving Signora to the "Fire," Capitano to "Death," and Dottore to the "Data," Pierro has successfully moved his strongest pieces off the visible board.

Obviously all speculation until we get to play it ourselves. But in summary, "Harbinger Deaths" are actually a multi-year Metaphysical Heist.

Basing mostly off past Archon quests and the following items:

  • Rosalyne: Pale Flame (Stainless Bloom), Crimson Witch of Flames set, Staff of Homa lore.
  • Capitano: Version 5.3 Natlan Archon Quest, Annals of the Night Kingdom, Perinheri (Khaenri'ah curse mechanics).
  • Dottore: Pale Flame (Wise Doctor's Pin), Version 3.2 Interlude, 6.7 Nicole Reeyn "Mute Prophetess" dialogue leaks.
  • Pierro: Pale Flame (Mocking Mask), A Winter Night's Lazzo teaser.

Can’t help but feel slightly disheartened because of Dottore and Sandrone

I’ve been one of the biggest proponents and defenders of the capitano family name, providing more and more evidence but I feel like I’ve just wasted my time honestly. First let me say that I do hope he returns and is playable. I have very high hopes but i’ve honestly felt like all the evidence we have of that now does not matter.

I’d like to start out discussing the matter of Dottore. While it is still a recent event so we don’t fully know if there’s any sort of planned return for him, he too seemingly had some sort of file evidence for a future playability. He was classified as a claymore in the files for one. Now, it seems as though he really is gone. All that dottore evidence, which, to be fair, wasn’t as much as capitano, is now essentially gone. How am I supposed to hold onto file evidence when that exists? Not to mention, it only got worse when roland for some reason was classified as a sword user.

Now with Sandrone, i feel even more at a loss. Pulonia is a skillobj. Antumbra is a skillobj. Need i explain how this worries me? And sandrone, while not a big redesign, was still redesigned. Most of her design appeal, from pulonia to her actual outfit, was changed heavily. I know lots of us don’t mind the idea of a thrain redesign or an unmasked design, but there’s also a large portion of us who like the current design, me included. Capitano has my favorite design in the whole game and i don’t think it’s crazy to say that his design is my favorite part of him. So with the idea that IF they have a playable plan for him, and all these files aren’t just a waste of their time and effort, it could STILL be not what a lot of us want by changing his design.

I was huge on the idea that the files are the biggest pieces of evidence that we have. But now, I’ve lost faith in all of that. Again, I really do have hope for him, but I just don’t believe in Hoyo to make good decisions revolving around Capitano anymore I guess.

I'm afraid of possible design changes

Yeah, this is about the death of Pulonia, but I think it sets a dangerous precedent for Thrain. What will they do to Capitano? Will they cut his hair, put him in a white outfit? It might be a crazy overexaggeration, but man, Sandrone was ready from the get-go, how could they mess her design up?

I wasn't playing when Wanderer released, and I like both of his designs, so I might be late to this kind of discussion, but idk. So to have a goated design and throw it away, it's not above Hoyo. If they do this to Capitano, it might just convince me to uninstall the game.

More hope or less hope? (Includes spoilers for the new Sumeru archon quest)

I have yet to do the Sumeru quest, but I’ve seen what happened to Dottore. To me, it seems like Dottore isn’t coming back. (Though I haven’t played the quest or seen sufficient evidence yet. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, I’m probably wrong on some things. I’m just asking for clarification.) I’ve also seen the stuff about Capitano and his death helping with the ley lines. Both these events give me less hope. Dottore shows that hoyo is willing to perma-kill a very very hyped character that’s similar to Capitano. And the Capitano ley lines stuff made me feel like him being brought back to life would cause a ton of plot issues and issues in teyvat. Despite all this, everyone in the Reddit seems super happy after the quest. Anyone know enough to explain our current situation to me? Thanks everyone!!!

After seeing and being disappointed with Neuvillette 2.0, Capitano needs to fill in the Fatui spot in my roster

As a charlatan whose unparalleled divination abilities that has made impeccable good meta pulls without top-ups on banner debuts, I hereby declare Capitano playable within 7.X with peak Mavuika DPS numbers.

I will gather all the Delulusions from everyone and will him to existence.

img is Bolvar Fordragon the legendary Alliance Paladin who became the second Lich King to keep the Scourge contained. Saw the resemblance and just like Capitano sacrificing himself to save Natlan, iykyk

Capitano themed bracelet

I just received it today and omg I love it soo much 🥹 it was made by user AbyssNarwhal on Etsy, unfortunately I think this item is unavailable at the moment but they make a lot of cool capitano/fatui stuff! I wish capi had more merch, I would buy it all

I believe he will be playable in Khaenri'ah because:

Each nation received its own "powers": Natlan with night souls, Nodkrai with lunar charge, and then Snezhanaya with stellar charge. What if Capitano never used Night Souls but instead used the effect of Khaenri'ah? As well as dainsleif, capitano will wake up in 7.x, but he will become playable in Khaenri'ah.

I believe he will be playable in Snezhnaya because:

Bro is the 1st of the Fatui Harbingers. Now that his story as a Khaenri'ahn has been concluded in 5.x, and with the Fatui basically being absolutely cooked - >! the 2nd is completely dead, unfortunately!<; the 3rd has left the organization; the 4th seems to be ready to sabotage the Project Stuzha - Capitano, with all the Mistilteinn hopium and the Mare Jivari foreshadowing, will retrieve the remaining Gnosis from the Ley Lines and lead the Fatui to their ultimate victory in the upcoming war against the Heavenly Principles.

As for the source of his power? Bro's gonna use the Seven-Shifting Serpent technique, just like Skirk, but this time, with Khaenri'ah no longer being that far away, they'll implement some mechanics related to the next region into his kit.

With all the other candidates eliminated, Capitano will become Snezhnaya 2nd half' main push character, by awakening in the middle of 7.x and becoming playable in 7.7, when the Fatui' war against the Shades will finally be close to its end.

Heroism!

Btw.. The exchange from Faruzan and Nicole in the 6.6 Archon Quest is quite interesting *coughs in simulanka*

They showed Dottore’s face, but they still haven’t fully revealed Thrain’s

Dottore also wears a mask that covers his eyes, yet they still decided to reveal his face.

Why not just show us Capitano’s glowing blue eyes like Mika described them?
