I've had HSV2 for 9 months now. The stigma, relationship hurdles, etc. doesn't phase me, perhaps because of my age. What does is the actual herpes. It's brutal. Since my first outbreak, it's been severe. I can go maybe 4 or 5 days before another outbreak happens. Never more than a week. I've heard its supposed to level out and become more mild as time goes by, but I can't do this physically anymore.
I know there isn't a cure. I'm realistic enough to know there won't be a cure in my lifetime. But I need to stop suffering from this, and I will. I know the virus lives in the nerves. Could I have them removed? If I had a surgeon willing to do what I asked, could they theoretically remove the part of the body where the virus lives? At the very least, could I have my genitals removed to spare myself the agony? It's bad. I can't deal with the outbreaks anymore.
