EDCC - Sport shooting with realistic carry gear
I’ve been working on a practical shooting format called EDCC (EveryDay Carry & Compete).
First and foremost this is a community driven practical shooting discipline and your feedback is most valuable.
The idea came from years around practical shooting sports and noticing that a lot of competitors already own solid carry-oriented pistols… but many formats gradually evolve toward highly optimized competition setups.
EDCC explores a shooting sport discipline in different direction:
>keeping the athletic, dynamic, skill-driven side of practical shooting, while centering the sport around realistic everyday-carry style equipment.
So the focus is on:
- carry-sized pistols
- realistic EDC holsters
- concealment garments
- movement efficiency
- accuracy under time pressure
EDCC is designed around firearms and setups many shooters already own and train with.
Some things people may find interesting:
- Max 20-round stages
- Time-plus scoring
- Concealment required for handgun divisions (but can become optional by stage design)
- EDC guns full-size, compact, and subcompact pistols (each one having it's own Iron Sights & OPTIC division)
- Strong-side carry and realistic holster positioning
- Emphasis on consistency and practical efficiency instead of equipment optimization
The idea is simply:
>
Curious what this community thinks:
- Would you shoot something like this?
- What would you want to see done well?
- What would immediately turn you away from it?
