SRO

Currently use the 507 comp for USPSA, but have been wanting to switch to the SRO (prefer the circle shape more). Only thing keeping me from switching is the price point and has been looking at others like Gideon omega.
Anyone have experience using it for Comp?

Leaderboard spoofing

Hello all,

Got the ace system couple months ago and I freaking love it. I'm also ecstatic that they changed the leaderboard to show it was from holster, or low ready or whatever.

I'm not focusing on that, I'm focusing on me, getting better, and beating my own times. Thats all that matters at the end of the day.

BUT! I have noticed the top of the leaderboards are kind of crazy. There are frequently the same people, over and over, at the top of the scoreboard with completely fictitious HF. Like places 11-50 are separated by tenths of a HF, then the spread in the top 10 is like 3 whole points. Often the gap between the top 1, or top 2 and 3, is a whole entire digit! Not a hundredth, not a tenth, whole number increase lol.

Some of them ive thought about and it seems could be legit, but those ones have everyone in the top 10 with similar times.

There are examples where its physically impossible to get such a high score. Ive see everyone have like 15 HF, then the number 1 spot has a HF of like 52. Its crazy!

Its such obvious bullshit, I wish the team could like verify somehow that it wasnt bs. These dudes are cheating to get the highest scores. I dont get it, why would you cheat this game, stage after stage, just to fuck the high scores up? And theyre not even real, you cannot physically shoot that fast, like whats the point.

There are several names that pop up over and over and over, theyre chronic cheaters, wish they'd get taken off the leaderboard.

Thats my rant, please dont hate. I know, "dont worry about them, focus on yourself". And I do. But its kinda fun to see how you stack up against others, and to know that the top of that leaderboard is probably bullshit is kind of disappointing, lol.

Slice of humble pie

I am a B class shooter and this is my first season shooting uspsa. I did my first sectionals and the stages absolutely kicked my ass. I can normally hold my own at local matches, I usually place top 20 out of all 70 shooters and top 10 of CO. These stages got so complicated I ended up forgetting one target out of three of the larger stages. I placed just over 100 place overall out of 213 shooters. It was definitely an opportunity to learn from my mistakes. Always a new challenge to this sport.

How low do you stand when shooting on a move?

B class shooter here. Looking at the internet I see some of the shooters get really low and move pretty fast with pretty long steps, while I see other trainers recommending standing tall and don't go down a much, but make shorter steps instead.
What would you recommend? And maybe you found some video, where someone is expalining it well. I would appreciate any advice.

pdp-f pro vs SF pro compact

Shooting about a year now, love it, starting to get into competition...deciding between a new Walther pdp-f pro, which feels amazing in hand and is the only pistol my small hands can reach the trigger without shifting my grip...or the reduced recoil/muzzle flip, better trigger of the SF compact.

Should I modify the pdp-f with heavier backstrap, base pads, maybe a light...or just get the SF, some thin bogies and suck it up with the reach. (Basically wondering what to prioritize, ergonomics or frame weight/mechanics?)

Recently shot two matches and im addicted. Want some advice

Hey guys, first off thank u all for giving me tips for my first USPSA match. Did one and a GPA match and im in love with these sports

With that being said, I want to shoot 1 gpa and 1 USPSA match a month. I am dry firing every day and was curious if I really need to do any live fire in my free time if im shooting these matches twice a month? Should i potentially limit to doing either a GPA or a USPSA match a month and dedicate a day out of the month to live fire?

Reason I ask is I want to make sure im not being dumb with my money and keeping a balance. That is something i struggle with Lol

Coming soon. Universal magnetic 3D printed mag pouches. Fits everything from a skinny CZ up to a 2011. Should halfway through the R&D process - finally ready for two of us to run them in a match next weekend. The files will go up on both Printables and Makerworld.

Did everyone just forget about the Rideout Arsenal Dragon pistol?

Is everyone just forgetting about the Rideout Arsenal Dragon?

When this pistol was first announced, there seemed to be a ton of interest in it. It was one of the most unusual new pistol designs in years, and there were plenty of discussions about the ultra-low bore axis, lever-delayed action, fixed barrel, etc.

Now that actual production Dragons are out in the wild, though, I barely see anyone talking about them.

What surprises me even more is the lack of long-form coverage. As far as I can tell, there are only two people who have made substantial long-form videos specifically documenting production Dragons and the problems they've experienced. I've been documenting my own Dragon from the beginning, including the malfunctions and the issues I've had with mine.

My Dragon has had multiple problems, and it's currently back with Rideout while they're investigating what happened. From what I've been told, they're looking into the guide rod/recoil spring issue and other components as well.

I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen a bunch of owners posting their experiences by now.

So I'm curious:

Who here actually owns a production Dragon?

How has yours been? How many rounds have you put through it? Have you had any problems, or has yours been completely reliable?

I'd really like to hear from other owners because there doesn't seem to be much real-world information out there yet.

Enclosed to Open Emitter Training

Hey everyone, currently buying the titanx dry fire trainer and wanting a red dot on it like my competition gun, Glock 17 gen 6 w/ COA. Trying to keep the budget within reason on the dot, I can (with substantial discount) get a vortex defender ccw for ~$200 shipped or defender ccw enclosed ~$250.

Has anyone had issues with transitioning between enclosed and open emitters for a dry fire/trainer vs their comp gun? Knee jerk I’m thinking no, but looking for any/all experiences.

Shooting with hearing loss

I wear hearing aids. I have full spectrum bilateral hearing loss putting me in the mid-60s on my audiogram across the entire spectrum of frequencies. I have a not-cheap Invisio headset that the company altered for me to make louder nominally so I could still hear normally with the advantage of their line of accessories. Well, the way I'm shooting now needs a headset that doesn't involve cables or big muffs. I got a set of Axils, but they're not loud enough at max level for me to understand what's going on around me or hear directions from the RO. Are there any earbud-like units out there that have a significant amplification boost to make them usable? I'm working with my audiologist for solutions, but it seems like I need to either wear muffs and hear but struggle with losing the cup seal dueing courses of fire, or wear plugs/buds and be deaf until I can put my hearing aids back in for RO commands.

Thoughts?

Training classes in FL

Hi y’all! I caught the USPSA bug, and now I’m addicted. That being said, I’d love to take some classes with top-level shooters to improve.

I’m fairly new to firearms, so traveling with guns isn’t something I’m quite ready for yet. Is there a website or resource where I can find GMs or Ms who offer classes in Florida? Southwest Florida would be ideal, but I’m more than happy to drive anywhere in the state.

Thank you!

Sons and I have have found something we all love and enjoy together!

Discovered sporting clays this year, and somewhere along the way I learned that my 9-year-old has an absolute fire for competition. Since then, we’ve been shooting and competing together, with my 7-year-old getting in on the action here and there too.

We’ve spent the summer traveling around to all the local-ish courses we can find, shooting tournaments and just enjoying the time together. We recently traveled across the country to my home state so we could compete in their state championship, and this winter we’re planning to go all the way to Puerto Rico with my parents to compete there too.

Selfishly, I don’t think this could have come at a better point in my own life. I found something I genuinely love doing, but somehow ended up with something even better: my boys genuinely LOVE doing it with me. The competitions and traveling are great, but getting all that time together has easily become my favorite part.

And then there’s an unexpected bonus to the whole thing.

At our local course, the retired general manager of 30 years—who is also a certified shotgun instructor/coach—has absolutely taken a liking to my 9-year-old and has basically become his coach, completely free of charge. He’s also become a close friend of mine.
From what I understand, his longtime shooting buddy passed away, and he hadn’t been getting out and shooting nearly as much over the past decade. Since we met, we’ve gotten him back out there quite a bit this year. My boys and I even got a stuffed gibbon monkey (the official spirit animal of us as we are big affectionate love bugs) named George Jr. That we take with shooting and traveling when George isn’t with us.

So somehow this hobby has turned into three generations of my family traveling and competing together, my boys and I making memories I hope they’ll carry with them forever, and an older gentleman finding a reason to get back out and enjoy something he’s loved his whole life.
Sporting clays was supposed to be a way to brush up for hunting season and has turned into something a hell of a lot more meaningful than that.

Tell me why Cops don’t compete and how to change that.

I’m trying to change the culture in my local LEO community but I want to hear what others have heard from their communities. What are the main excuses you’ve heard and more importantly what are some solutions? There is already some good discussion going on in the comment section of the video, please chime in with what you’ve heard. I’ll do my best to implement the solutions in my community. Thanks!
