I went to a real Viettel store in Hanoi and asked for a sim, the plan itself was 135k and they forced me to pick a number with the cheapest being 600k. I asked if they could randomly assign me a number or give a cheaper one and they said it’s only available for Vietnamese locals. Did I get scammed? Ended up paying 735K because I was on a time crunch and needed data

Moving to NYC for work with no U.S. credit history as a Canadian, but my income is over the 40x rent requirement.
I’m planning to travel a bit before the move, so I’ll only have about a week in NYC to tour apartments and sign a lease.
My budget is around $4.5k–5k for a 1BR in Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown, Hudson Yards, or Chelsea, ideally with an elevator, doorman, dishwasher, and in-unit washer/dryer.
Would one week be enough time? I’m thinking of scheduling viewings and flying in for June 24–26 to tour units, then moving in around July 1–3. Is that cutting it too close? Would most units be gone by then?
