what is happening to my jaw :(
i have been dealing with jaw and mouth pain since december and it’s been severely affecting my quality of life. i’ve always had tmj problems but they got significantly worse in december, to the point where i was going to the ER often because i was so scared of the pain. they never could do anything for me, they always said my jaw was fine. i think i messed my jaw up by chewing on the right side only for almost a year, because i had a bad cavity on my left side. i tried to stop thinking about my jaw pain so much, and then in april my cavity got infected and i had to go on antibiotics. i got a root canal and during it he did the numbing injections incorrectly. he also burned the shit out of my gums with dental bleach, and he told me my roots were c-shaped and strange. my pain was not bad the day of and the day after, i was sore but my jaw and tooth felt good (minus the dental bleach, that hurt very badly). however, it’s been about 4 weeks since i got the root canal and since then i’ve been feeling a different kind of pain, and it’s been especially bad the past week. my jaw is ALWAYS burning. always. i can barely open my mouth and my jaw is visibly receding on the left side when it really wasn’t a bit ago. i feel feverish but i don’t think i have one, but my skin hurts a lot and my joints do as well. i’ve never had joint problems. my knees and elbows and fingers feel like they’re on fire since this started. when i touch my left jaw, it feels like bumpy and it is tender to the touch. i’m extremely lethargic lately and even when i sleep im exhausted, i’ve had sore throats even though i’m not sick, and my airway is genuinely messed up so bad like im breathing so loudly all of the sudden that my girlfriend keeps waking me up thinking i’m having nightmares.
idk what to do, i was going to go to urgent care but ive heard they don’t do much for dental stuff
