Need perspective: husband thinks 10 days away is unreasonable for a mom

F, married with 2 kids (6 and 3) looking for honest advice.

My female best friend in Europe invited me to visit her for 10 days and is even paying for my ticket. Last year she came to visit me, and we promised each other that next time I would come to her. We even discussed it with my husband back then, although of course he never fully committed to anything.

Now that it’s becoming real, he’s refusing and keeps making excuses, mainly saying the kids are too young.

The thing is, I’ve already tried to organize everything to make it easier. I planned meal prep and freezer meals, and I even asked one of my sisters to come help for a few days with the kids. She’s married too and would be coming with her own kids.

What hurts is that last year he went away for 5 days to visit a friend and I handled everything at home without making him feel guilty.

Part of me feels like I should respect his decision, but another part of me feels frustrated because it feels unfair. Am I wrong for feeling resentful about this?
