How is living with an elderly mother viewed in Turkish marriages?
In Turkish culture newly married couples usually prefer to live separately and build their own home together.
But in a situation where the mother is elderly, somewhat ill, emotionally dependent on her son, and he is her only caregiver, would it be considered normal or acceptable in Turkish culture for the son to have his mother live with him and his wife after marriage?
Of course, I mean in a respectful way where both the wife and the mother still have their own privacy and personal space.
I’m curious how this is generally viewed in Turkey.
