What do you think the buildingspeeds were based off of this wind damage?

A pretty big skyscraper building went through Cumuluscia a few days back, and its been given a preliminary FE-4 rating by the Structural Weather Service.

This was a well-built, barely-sheared wind that got almost entirely destroyed by the building, with some debris scattered. Significant cloud scouring is also visible. There was also a pretty powerful tensile signature by the building as it got near this specific windborhood where the subject was.

I'm wondering if, based off of the wind damage, could this have been an FE-5 building? One to break the 8-year drought?

So I've been testing reusability for a rocket's rather expensive first stage, but the main problem is how, even with the 10-meter heat shield and good reaction wheels, the stage begins to become uncontrollable deep enough in the atmosphere. In the end the craft survives re-entry, but I still don't like that this happens. I don't think my ascent profile wasn't too bad: The periapsis was 14 km from default 86.75 km orbit that menu cheat gives you.

Can I do something to stop the tumbling from happening? Should I just deal with the fact that the craft will spin uncontrollably but in the end withstand it?

Edit: 3.75m heat shield instead of 10m, swept wings at the bottom, 40-km periapsis. The tumbling still happens, but at a lower altitude and it's much tamer than what I had before. I can deal with that. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Last time we tried making the tornado's path, but it didn't work out. I was going to choose one reply to dictate the entire path, but apparently multiple ideas were being thrown around, so I thought it would be better to restart this part and allow the ideas of multiple replies to make the path instead!

Path

The tornado's starting location is Slabtown, Idaho. The ending location is Mt Vernon, Kentucky. Yes, the tornado will be traveling at least 1,700 miles between the two halves of the continental US.

Rules are that these shaded states dictate the boundaries the path must stay in. The tornado cannot travel outside of the shaded area.

As mentioned before, multiple replies will be used to make the path, and hopefully I'll be able to combine the majority of them into something grand. You can make a part of the path for an entire state, or just a part for a town the tornado will intercept, or just a part in the middle of nowhere. Generally, keep your path suggestions within one or two states.

There are no strict criteria for what replies are used this time around, I am eager to use all of them (as long as they don't break the rules!). Some path suggestions might overlap, some might need adjusting, some may, unfortunately, need to be discarded entirely, but the dream is that I can take them all and make one nice monstrosity.

The next part (for real this time) will be about time and date.

Previously, we were to "decide" a starting point and end point for the tornado. When I started making this part, the results were Mount Vernon, Kentucky and Slabtown, Idaho. Because Slabtown is further west and has an objectively cooler name, it will be the starting point, and Mount Vernon will be the ending point.

Oh boy.

Path

With two points for the start and end of the tornado, we will now create a path for the tornado. Rules are that the path must stay within the borders of whichever state lies within the line connecting the start and end points directly to each other. Here, maybe it's better if I show what that's like.

There. This corridor of states represents the boundaries the tornado must stay in along its 1,700-mile path. Also, the path can't have tons of ridiculous loops, overlaps, or zig-zags. Keep the insanity contained in some form. I'm thinking 15 weird path parts is about as high as I'll allow.

You can make the path through Google Earth, you could just draw it on your phone, I don't care. It just needs to be connected to both spots on the map, no cheeky loopholes.

This time, the way of choosing which reply dictates the final path will be a bit more complicated. I will take this post's upvote count, multiply it by the most upvoted reply's upvote count, and then use the final digit of the product to choose the nth-most upvoted reply as the path we will be using. If the reply in question happens to break one of the rules, I'll resort to using the tamest past submitted as punishment.
