Sensorium - Still looking for Mobile, Frontend and Graphic Design volunteers!

Hey everyone!

Over the past two days I posted about Sensorium, a Sense8 inspired app idea, and then put out a call for volunteers to help build it.

The response has been amazing, and we already have enough people on board from all over the world for backend development, product strategy, UI/UX, legal, marketing, and QA.

However we still have a few critical gaps and would love to hear from anyone with experience in:

  • Mobile App Development
  • Frontend Development
  • Graphic Design

If that's you or someone you know, please share or fill out this short google form here: Google form

If you missed the previous posts, you can check them out here:

Note: This will probably be the last volunteer post. We've had a great response so far, so rather than waiting for every role to be filled, I'll reach out to everyone who's signed up, and we'll get started with the team we have.

Sensorium - Calling for Volunteers!

Hey everyone!

Yesterday I posted about an app idea inspired by Sense8 and the response has been overwhelming. Thank you all so much for the support!

If you missed the original post, the basic idea is that you're matched into a private group of 8 people, with no public profiles, no followers, no algorithms, just meaningful connections. You can check it out here: original post

And to my surprise, the person (shoutout to u/ghostskull012) behind the original Sensorium app from 2018 showed up in the comments and wants to get involved too.

They mentioned that back then, around 100 people from this community came together and contributed whatever skills they could offer. I'd love to do the same thing again.

This is a passion project. If you love Sense8 and want to help build something for the community, I would love to have you on board.

Skills that would be helpful:

  • Mobile App Development
  • Frontend Development
  • Backend Development
  • UI/UX Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Community Management
  • Legal & Privacy
  • Product & Strategy
  • Quality Assurance / Testing
  • Or anything else you can bring to the table!

Don't see yourself here in the above list? No worries, the form has an 'Other' option: beta testing, ideas, feedback, vibes, anything counts.

If you're interested, please fill out this short google form.

Once I have a clearer picture of the team, I'll reach out to everyone who signed up to figure out next steps together.

If you have any questions about filling out the form, feel free to drop a comment and I'll help you out.

Thanks again and looking forward to connecting with you all!

Sense8 inspired an app idea I'm working on. Would anyone here actually use it?

I know there was an attempt to create an app called Sensorium a while back, but when I looked into it recently, I couldn't really find anything.

I've been working on my own take on the idea and wanted to see what other Sense8 fans think before I spend too much time building it.

The basic idea is that you're matched into a private group of 8 people.

Features I'm currently thinking about:

  • Group chat with your cluster
  • Member profiles so you can get to know everyone
  • "Signals": a way to ask your cluster for advice, recommendations, feedback, accountability, or help with something
  • A shared timeline that captures important moments and milestones from the group's history
  • No followers
  • No public profiles
  • No endless feed
  • No algorithms

I'm also considering having two ways to match people:

  • Interest Clusters: matched primarily based on shared interests and hobbies
  • Birth Year Clusters: matched with people around the same age

To make matching easier and faster, I'm thinking of only asking for the birth year instead of the full date of birth.

If I built this, do you think there would be a user base for it? What features would you want?

And more importantly, would you actually use it, or does it sound like something you'd get bored of after a week?

Edit: People have asked about signup form, so I've put together a short form:

[Signup Form Link]

Full disclosure: I haven't started development yet. Right now I'm trying to validate the idea, gather feedback, and figure out what people would actually want from something like this before I invest a lot of time building it.

If I decide to move forward, it'll probably be a while before there's anything ready to test, but I'll use the form to reach out with updates and future beta access.

Thanks to everyone who's shared feedback so far. It's already changed some of my thinking around the design.

Edit 2: If you'd like to volunteer and help build Sensorium, check out the volunteer post

Built a free DSA learning path for beginners - theory, practice problems, and exams all in one place

It's a structured path from Big O to DP. Each topic has theory, then coding problems, then an exam to lock it in. Topics unlock as you go so you're not jumping ahead randomly.

Some other popular platforms have similar structured paths but they're behind a paywall, but this one is free.

Would love to hear what you think, check it out at https://zerotodsa.com

Built a free DSA learning path for beginners - theory, practice problems, and exams all in one place

Been prepping for placements and got tired of jumping between YouTube tutorials, LeetCode, and random blogs. So I built my own thing.

It's a structured path from Big O to DP. Each topic has theory, then coding problems, then an exam to lock it in. Topics unlock as you go so you're not jumping ahead randomly.

Some other popular platforms have similar structured paths but they're behind a paywall, but this one is free.

Also, this isn't meant to replace LeetCode. Think of it as a prep layer - learn the concepts, solve beginner-friendly problems, pass the exams, then go solve LeetCode with confidence.

My Ukulele reference hub is official now!

Hey everyone,

I posted about my app about a week ago and got some great feedback, so I decided to properly implement it and deploy it.

It's now live at https://strumandspruce.com

Please give it a try and let me know what you like, and if you have any suggestions on how to improve it even more.

Cheers!

Hey everyone, I am pretty new to ukulele myself and while learning I put together a little reference site called Strum & Spruce. Figured if it was helping me, it might be useful for others here too.

It has three sections: an interactive anatomy diagram so you can learn the parts of your ukelele, chord diagrams with audio samples, and strumming patterns with D/U notation. Just something handy to keep open while you practice.

Would love to know what you think, and if there are chords or anything else you'd want added.
