I think John Stones on a free would actually be a really smart move for Barca. He’s 31 now but still brings massive experience at the highest level. This wouldn’t be a long-term signing, but more like what Iñigo has been for us someone who helps stabilize things and guide the younger defenders.

Stones already knows how to play Pep style football. He’s comfortable on the ball, can step into midfield, and understands positioning and build-up play properly. That’s something a lot of our younger CBs are still learning, and having someone like him in the squad helps a lot, not just in games but in training too.

People will probably bring up injuries or age, but on a free transfer the risk is very low. You’re not spending big money, and you’re adding a player who’s played at the top level, won everything, and understands high-pressure situations.

Even if he’s rotated and not starting every game, his presence, leadership, and experience could really help the squad. Feels like one of those low-key smart signings that could make more impact than people expect.
