Is there a place where we can receive updates on 3L roles

Hard to continuously check firm websites so I wanted to see if anywhere else has the info

How are you cutting your hammy’s nails?

Tried using this small pet nail clipper but felt like it was still too large/blunt for her nails so I was scared to clip.

At what point will it become easier to lateral?

Placed in a group I don’t want to work in. I am almost done with my first year, and have had zero success lateraling to another firm in the right practice group. I know this is likely due to my lack of experience in that area and lack of need for someone so junior. At what point will it become easier for me to actually make the move to another firm in the group I want?

Humidity concern

Moved into a new apartment a month ago and the humidity has been consistently sitting at 60-72ish, even with a dehumidifier. We had the maintenance come check and their monitor found no moisture in the walls or home so that’s a good sign. They said these levels are the norm here, but it doesn’t feel right. Will my hamster be ok? We are currently running a huge dehumidifier but the bedroom where my girl is is still at 60%. I made sure to keep the room cool at 70-71/2 so hopefully she isn’t too impacted.

What to do when maintenance comes and uses chemicals?

I live in an apartment and am having my wall AC units inspected for issues tomorrow. I am concerned that they will spray a cleaner on the unit, which will then blow back into the room and onto my hamster cage. I can’t move the cage because it’s very heavy, and I’m not sure I can find my hamster and remove her when it’s being done. Would it be ok to cover the top of the cage for like 30 minutes to prevent any chemicals from going in? Or would that completely cut off her air flow?

Anyone’s firms in need of litigation juniors?

Trying to lateral but am quite junior, which has been an obstacle. It could be helpful to know which firms actually have need so I know who to reach out to

Edit: looking in NYC

Would it be a bad move to switch to a government position/smaller firm then try to move back to big law later on?

Very junior associate who was placed in a practice group that is the complete opposite of what I want to do. Having zero luck with lateraling, and am finding myself really struggling to stay positive. The group I was placed in is very demanding and the hours can get bad compared to other groups. Prior to being placed in this group, I wanted to stay in big law for years. Now I'm finding myself wanting to leave asap because of my experience. Would it be a terrible move to leave and go to a government position or small firm in the practice area I want and then move back into big law ~2 years down the line to be in the right practice group? I feel like my life has been turned upside down by this and I am just trying to figure out the best career move at this point while maintaining some semblance of happiness.

Placed in a practice group I didn’t rank and am looking to lateral to a different firm & practice area. So far I’ve been unsuccessful due to being so junior, but as I approach the end of my first year I’m hoping things will become easier. Any advice/success stories?
