i want to go back and get him so bad but i really can’t stand buying animals from pet stores☹️

My hamster Walnut starts nibbling and trying to drag my hand whenever I invite him to climb onto my hand.

Pretty sure it's not actual bites, as it does not hurt at all. A little pinchy sometimes at most. Feels like he's trying to drag me along.

Is this defensive behaviour as in "Keep this up and I'll bite you" ? Does he mistake me for food?

He witnessed us putting the decorations up in the house, so he naturally demanded his house be decorated too 🎃. Where are people from the UK getting rheir flaxseed? Its expensive in amazin and he goes through it so quickly.

I keep getting these videos from time to time, I personally don’t own hamsters but I do own other small rodents. What are people’s thoughts on this, I see some people saying that “it’s harmless” but wouldn’t this stress out a hamster or any small animal? And it’s multiple different people I see posting such things.

20 day old hammies. First time holding them

I bought two hamsters from someone who no longer wanted them (two Syrians together genders unknown but I think they are female atm) and I’m planning on separating them into two 75 gal tanks so they don’t harm each other. This one kinda looks like it’s been beat up already near one eye. but does this hamsters teeth look too long? Please help! What do you all think?

im a new robo owner! things to note, my enclosure is 800 square inches and i know it can/should be bigger so please nothing related to that lol. i also have a large sandbath coming to replace my two small ones. i have sphagnum moss that i will be adding shortly. thanks!

After three weeks I was finally honoured with her little scratches asking to be let out of the cage. When I opened her lid she started clicking her teeth in excitement. She sat up and pressed her nose to mine as she sniffed and it took everything in me not to squeal and scare her. I also discovered she likes the sound of me crunching cereal, maybe she thinks I’m clicking my teeth?

I've had my hybrid dwarf about 10 days now and I cannot seem to figure out what he likes as far as treats or vegetables. I've tried freeze dried chicken, meal worms, pumpkin seeds, tiny piece of apples, celery, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, spinach, tiny piece of carrot, a Itty kitty sliver of grape, plain cheerios.

He does seem to eat his seed mix and blocks. But other than that he hasnt even touched anything additional I've put out. Now I know hybrid dwarves are prone to diabetes so I wouldn't normally have offered some of the above higher sugar items, and what was offered was so small. But in the end he never tried any of it.

What're some other things I can try? Or has anyone else experienced this? He came from a rescue and is still young so I don't know if he was ever offered other things.

Cleaned out his enclosure today and he looks so happy exploring and snacking on all his treats 🩷

Its been a few months since I've shared my gal. Shes now 2 months away from being 2. So shes an elderly gal now. She comes out less and stays out for a shorter amount of time. But when shes out. Shes ready to be with her people. I just LOVVVEE this little fur ball so much.

Any tips to make her home more elderly friendly ? I am working on ramps right now. She still climbing and jumping off things. Doesn't like her current ramp 🙄

Upgraded from bin(roughly 500 sq ft) to wooden enclosure (980 sqft!!!)!!! She has so much more room! I am so happy

Could use advice! Please let me know if everything looks safe! And if the design is practical/functional

I have since moved the small white water bowl to the top of the multi chamber hide and added bedding to the sides of the small chamber hide in the front so if she jumps down it is less than 1/2 inch fall. I moved her food bowl down as well.
