Hi, I've had my hd550 for 1 month and i can't deal with its treble. Bass and mids are good, maybe a bit cold and lean...but the treble is pretty strange. I hear it quite smooth until 7k, then the rollercoaster starts. I got a huge peak between 7100Hz and 7500Hz, then a huge dip (like -7 or -8 db) between 8000Hz and 9000Hz, then it gets normal until 12kHz. Between 12kHz and 13kHz there's a really massive peak indeed. All of this make the music sound dry, sandy and scratchy most of the time. I tried to play with eq and, even if it helps a lot, i still find it kinda wrong up there. Everyone said that the hd550 are smooth and neutral, but i really don't understanday. I bought a pair of hd650 (it's coming in few days), hoping for the famous sennheiser "veil". It should solve almost every tonal issue I have with the hd550, cause it should be thicker in the lower mids and darker in the treble. Is there anyone out there who had a similar experience with the hd550? Thank you all for your time🙏
