What to do with GC2SD card?

I recently bought the Bitfunx NGC HDMI Adapter (https://a.co/d/07SVHq6N) so I could up my GCs resolution, and it came with a GC2SD card adapter. I wasn't expecting getting this, and I don't know how to use it in my certain setup.

Currently, I have a completely vanilla GC, and I have several games, including SSBM, Star Wars Rouge Leader, Kirby's Airride, LoZ Twilight Princess, and Mario Party 4. I never modded my GC with any HB.

Soon, I will get my recently preordered a FlippyDrive (https://www.crowdsupply.com/team-offbroadway/flippydrive). I will also eventually get a gameboy adapter, DOL-017.

My plan is to eventually mod my GC so that I can use the DOL-017, and play my GBA games. It is my understanding that in order to use the DOL-017 adapter, I need the disc.... or bypass it through modding. Thus why I am getting the FlippyDrive to put swiss in it.

Back to the GC2SD..... I wasn't really planning on using this, but I am open to getting some pointers as to how to use it, or what benefits it has.

According to this youtuber (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOH58Acaxik&t=1187s&pp=ygUMZ2FtZWN1YmUgbW9k) the way I can make the GC2SD work is I would need to procure another modded GC memory card to perform the game save exploit to THEN get into Swiss. I don't really feel like doing this since I'm already getting the FlippyDrive, so.... what else can I do with my GC2SD?

Attached is the front and back of my specific R4i Card for reference.

I recently was given excellent guidance as to which Kernel I ought to use for this R4 card. https://www.reddit.com/r/flashcarts/comments/1swpuod/having_issues_playing_pokemon_renegade_platinum/

Now that I have R4iMenu installed... (btw, please correct me if I got the name wrong...) I am reaching out again to see if I can get some further guidance...

Before I begin... I do also want to mention that I have an EZFlash Omega Definitive Edition in the GBA slot of my DS Lite. It is running great (when I boot it up without the R4 card inserted into the DS slot) and has been fully configured.

So, when I previously had Twilight Menu++ on this R4 card, I was able to play the Legend of Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition on it (DSiWare as an .nds file). Now with R4iMenu setup, I no longer have the option to play this game. The error I receive (image attached in the comments section) is what I get when I try to launch the game.

My research has led me to understand that several factors are at play. Originally, through Twilight Menu++, they were mitigated through the following steps.

  1. I needed to set up my EZFlash Omega DE to be in Mode B with RAM mode being checked. According to what I researched... its because The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition requires more Ram than what is available in the DS Lite. Because its originally DSiWare, it would run perfectly fine on a DSi (go-figure...). So the configuration through the EZFlash partially enables this game to run on a DS Lite.
  2. I needed to have a SDK5 Nintendo DS title to set as a donor ROM. Looking it up online, I found that Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! (.nds) was a good candidate for this. On Twilight Menu++, I would have to hover over that Mario game, press Y and select "Set as Donor ROM".

(When I did this on Twilight Menu++) Once both steps were done, the game would boot no problem. Although the first step is already easily enabled, I don't have a way to replicate the second step within the R4iMenu... at least, not to my knowledge.

Looking to see if anyone either knows a solution to this, or if there is a way to launch Twilight Menu++ as an .nds file (or something) from the R4iMenu, to allow the option to do what I've mentioned above. I saw the following reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/flashcarts/comments/17v1z7l/load_rom_errcode5_when_i_try_a_dsi_ware_game/) and tried to follow the suggestions... but adding the files (_nds and BOOT.NDS / BOOT_ALT.NDS) into the root, along with everything else that I already had on there, didn't provide the results which I was expecting.

I think, from my reinterpretation of the suggestion, is that the solution was to forego R4iMenu, and use Twilight Menu++ instead if one wanted to play DSiWare. I hope I am wrong and its just something I need to do differently.

Again, please let me know if any additional information is needed.

Attached are the front and back of my specific R4i Card, as well as an image of the error screen that I get (red, Error: Data Abort!), and the type of micro SD card I am using for it.

I recently found my R4i card, I don't know when I got it, but it had to had been after 2011, before 2015. I saw multiple forums and youtube videos that have confirmed that the supposed timebomb on this card can be mitigated with Twilight Menu ++. I've already installed it into my R4i (with nds-bootstrap Ver. Release v2.15.0), and am playing it through my DS Lite.

Quick background on my experience modding: I've already added Twilight ++ on my DSi and my New 3DS XL, and both of those systems are working fine. I like to think what I did on my R4i was done correctly, but because its an older card, it has some limitations and probably needs a specific GUI? Different kernel?

I've been trying to play Pokemon Renegade Platinum on it, first with the Fast Patch mod (which makes it go up to around 60fps). When I would go in and out of a building or battle, sometimes the game would freeze or present the red screen (attached). There are also times that the NPC sprites in the overworld would glitch out (having black fuzzy lines). I tried using the regular Pokemon Renegade Platinum romhack, without any additional patches on it, and it would still happen, though not as frequently. My theory is that the Fast Patch overwhelms the CPU? Ram? something?

All of this to say... I have not had this same issue replicated on other vanilla games on my R4i, or even my Chinese version of Pokemon Heart Gold.... which (to my knowledge) is a language-romhack since I don't think the game ever was available in Chinese.

I've read online that other kernels like YSMenu, Wood R4, and Pico Launcher are better than Twilight Menu++ / nds-bootstrap... But I am looking to see if anyone has any recommended kernels or guides for my specific card that could be more stable for the Romhacks I wish to play.

Please let me know if any additional information is needed. Thanks for any help!
