Implant-Free Rhinoplasty (No Silicone) - 1 Month 9 Days Post-Op by Dr. Junyoung Kim (Seoul, South Korea)
This patient underwent rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Jun Young Kim at WillBe Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Because she already had sufficient bridge height, there was no need for a silicone implant or any other artificial implant material. Instead, the focus of the surgery was to conservatively smooth a small dorsal hump and create a slimmer, more defined nasal tip while preserving a natural appearance.
To achieve this, we used a combination of irradiated donor rib cartilage and the patient's own ear cartilage for tip refinement. No silicone implant, Gore-Tex, or other synthetic implant was used.
The surgical plan included:
- Conservative reduction of the dorsal hump (rather than lowering the entire bridge)
- No silicone implant, since the patient's bridge was already adequately high
- Tip plasty using irradiated rib cartilage and the patient's own ear cartilage to create a slimmer, more projected nasal tip
The goal was not to dramatically change her nose, but to improve the overall balance of her profile while maintaining facial harmony.
At just 1 month and 9 days after surgery, some residual swelling, especially in the nasal tip, is still expected. Rhinoplasty continues to mature over the coming months, and tip definition typically becomes more noticeable as the swelling gradually resolves.
Feel free to leave any questions below about hump reduction, implant-free rhinoplasty, irradiated rib cartilage, ear cartilage grafts, healing, or the recovery timeline. I'm happy to
explain anything in more detail!
Photo Note: The before and after photos have not been digitally edited, retouched, or reshaped in any way. The patient chose to wear makeup for her routine follow-up appointment, but no filters or photo enhancement have been applied to either image. Please focus on the nasal bridge, profile, and tip contour when comparing the results.
