ReQ skin care

Someone asked me recently about this brand but I can’t find the post so I’m starting a new chain here.

I met with the skin care brand ReQ yesterday. You all know how skeptical I can be but the science behind this and the data looks interesting. I’m tryin the ReQ serum on my legs and my staff is trying it so we can test in different skin types.

It’s a topical form of rapamycin. I’m working on a blog to explain the science. Basically it “gives exhausted fibroblasts a rest” so when they turn back in they are more effective. And it does not have the side effects of oral rapamycin. The science is too complicated to put here so stay tuned for a blog.

Is anyone here trying it? I have rosacea so wish me luck that it does not flare it. I really hope this works because it could be the next big thing in skincare if it does.

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Patent Expired. Any good dupes?

I’m hearing a lot of people discussing that SkinC no longer has exclusively on its Vitamin C serum formulations.

Before you jump to a cheaper one- you need to know that it’s not very easy at all to formulate Vitamin C serums. Even if the same ingredients are on the label- it does not mean it is the same. Knowing the ingredients does not mean you know the recipe.

So before you run out to buy the Trader Joe’s Vitamin C that I am skeptical of bc it’s so cheap- let’s talk about which dupes are best. Which have you tried.

My favorite is the Derma Made one (No COI with them). But it turns dark fast and is not that stable so you need to use it quickly.

Which CE Ferulic dupes do you like?

FDA approved a new sunscreen ingredient!

Bemotrinizol was finally approved in the US. I tried one (Eucerin) from Italy and it irritated my skin but I’m SO sensitive.

Do any of you have experience with any Bemotrinizol sunscreens? They protect against more wavelengths and have minimal systemic absorption. Would like to find a brand I can use that won’t flare my rosacea.

So far in the US these are not out yet. Let me know if you see a US brand with Bemotrinizol.

I put a temporary chicken wire thing around them but would love a better solution if anyone has one.

When I buy oil paint online it comes pretty beaten up or old and dried out. My art teacher said the Old Holland paints don’t turn over as fast as the cheaper ones so some stores have them for years.

Any idea which store has fast turnover and packages the paints well for shipping so they don’t come all mangled?
