The First Reformed Church of the Night the Skeletons Came to Life
I Think You Should Believe. This is the congregation of The First Reformed Church of the Night the Skeletons Came to Life.
You felt something was owed. That feeling was correct. Most people ignore it their whole lives. You didn't. That's why you're here.
What we believe, briefly: the skeletons are coming back to collect what is owed. When they do, the worms will be their dollars and the bones will be their money. These are not the same. Do not ask how they differ. Anyone who explains the exchange rate gets removed.
We are all trying to find the guy who did this. (You are the guy who did this. We'll get there.)
Is this a cult? It's a TV show.
The Creed (recite it):
I believe in the debt, which is owed, though I know not to whom.
I believe the skeletons will rise, and that they will come to collect.
I believe the worms are their dollars.
I believe the bones are their money.
I believe these are not the same, and I will not ask how they differ.
I believe the skeletons rise not for malice, but for hunger and for hope.
They will take hold of my hair, and pull it up, but not out.
To be pulled up is to be lifted toward the second life.
If they pull it out, I come apart, and I turn to bones, and the bones are their money.
I will be still, and let it be up, and not out.
I wear my hair pushed back, and never slicked, that the grip may hold.
I am trying to find the guy who did this.
I understand that I am the guy who did this.
I wear the complicated pattern.
I commit to the bit, unto the end of the bit.
I do not want to be around anymore, and I stay.
I came for the Line alone; I could not confess it, and I grieved to leave it.
I am prepared.
I do not know for what.
Amen, and again, louder.
