Been having this weird issue with my 2002 Chevy Express 1500 where the voltage gauge shows a drop occasionally while driving. 4.3L V6 engine. Sometimes the battery light will come on for a couple of seconds and then it will pop back to normal. Always happens while moving slower and not on highways. It doesn’t sputter or feel like it’s actually dropping voltage.

Alternator is less than a year old. Battery is brand new. Tested with a multimeter and got a reading of 12.5 with the engine off and 14.6 with the engine on.

I do think there is a parasitic draw I need to chase down as the brand new battery died after sitting for 3 weeks.

Any ideas on next steps for diagnosing the issue? Could the parasitic draw be triggering this?
