Recently bought a wah shell as I inteded to build a clone of the Colorsound inductorless wah. This being my first wah build Im a bit confused about the wah pot itself. Shell came with 2 wah gears, one for D-style shaft and one regular round one. My confusion lies in the fact that they're both way longer than any pot I have available locally (16 cm so Im guessing it would require a 16cm shaft, not counting thread, right?)

Am I thinking wrong about this or should I just spend the extra money on a "actual" wah pot with its own gear?
