Hey guys,

I’ve been thinking a lot about how our social lives as a JW followed predetermined scripts.

We knew what to say in any given situation because we knew very well how we were supposed to act, what to feel, what opinion was appropriate.

For example, I would select one aspect of any given talk so that after the meeting I was prepared when someone inevitably asked what I thought.

Im going to be presenting on this topic at an upcoming cult studies conference, and I need more examples, and the challenge of re-integrating into a world that does not follow such neat scripts.

Can you think of any other examples (general, or specific to you) that might relate to this topic?
