Budget is around $2300 for a 2 bed / 2 bath. I have stable income/good salary, but my credit isn’t the best right now, so I’m looking for places that may be flexible with credit if income is strong.

Hi everyone! I’m a single mom fairly new to Houston and looking for recommendations on safe, family-friendly neighborhoods or decent apartments.
I currently live in the Minnetex area and honestly haven’t loved it, so I’m hoping to relocate when my lease is up. I work in the Texas Medical Center, so I’d prefer somewhere with a reasonable commute (ideally 20-30 minutes or less).
My son is 10, so good schools, safety, and a community feel are important to me. I’m open to apartments, townhomes, or neighborhoods that are good for single parents/families. Budget is around $2300 per month.
