Thinking about going to get a cheap AF guitar to use as a guinea pig to learn/experiment with set-ups & modding. Gonna keep price around $100-$150 so if I screw it up- it won’t hurt too much. Anyone else learn like this or have experience with this approach. I’m assuming if I buy good tuners, pickups , etc I can always transplant them into a better rig once I feel confident with honing my skill set. Hell I may even venture into modding the body, relic’ing, painting etc … who knows. Would love to hear others experiences and maybe even post your pet project. Cheers!!
