Hello fellow nerds. Im in my first few weeks of DS modding and its quickly became my newest hyperfixation hobby! It all started after Fire Reds relaunch on Switch where I 100% my living Pokedex (hadn't done so since 98) But I wanted to play though Soul Silver again... and for some reason physical copies are 240$... so after meeting a stanger in a gas station parking lot I acquired a decent DSI xl and after 20 minutes on YouTube it runs Twilight. Then I found out I needed access to Pokémon bank and Transporter with the Hshop. So after meeting another NPC, I picked up a 3DS and slide Luma on it. After a bit of high seas tomfoolery we're in business!
But it wasn't enough.
So now begins phase 2, Hardware modding.
I have an Old GBA with rattling inside so after a speedy Amazon van delivery of the IFIXIT tool kit (which is really nice BTW I always wonder how people took this stuff apart) and a few Smeckles on AliEx for a new shell, ISP screen and rechargeable battery that lays out my next project. But none of that is why im here, just a bit of Lore.....
After a quick trip to the basement in the boxes of old consoles I've farmed over the years was a NDS lite with busted hinge and a cooked battery. But I want to do something really cool with it.... however I'm and absolute amateur... I don't now how to solder yet ( Im gona pick up some yard sale VCRs and radios and practice on) and have only a principal understand of motherboard basics.
But I am undefeated on learning new things, and the commitment it takes to pour hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars into this quarters new thrill....
But what I'm imagining is picking up one of the cheap Translucent shells and adding LEDs to the inside of it.... but the logistics and feasibility of making it work are lost on me. Im no electrician and no electrical engineer
Im just a man on a spectrum with an Amex.....
Can a 3.7 volt battery supply the system screens and lights and not drain it in 33 seconds?
Could it work? Am I imagining the impossible? Any input, tips, or advice is appreciated and Thanks in advance!!!
(Also the picture is 100% going to be AI... I am sorry if there's a data center in your region and I'm over here cranking your power bill for my silly BS and I dont support corporations stealing art to feed their nether brain)
