How was Hagrid able to track harry?

I'm just starting with my yearly HP book and I just wondered how hagrid knew the different locations of the Dursley's journey to the shed on the rock.

They stopped for one night in a hotel there where letters for harry but how did they knew? Harry didn't use magic so no possibility of the trace being used nor did they have a preplanned route and hagrid isn't the type of wizard blending in very well?

Why where the weasley late to pickup harry

I have lately wondered why the weasley where lately to get harry in GoF, they used the flue network and its not timed like a portkey. Did they just do it to mess with the dursleys?

Is there an logical answer to that?

Why did Lily die?

I'm currently rereading Deathly hallows and in the scene where voldemort relives the murder of James and Lily it's clearly stated that James sacrifices himself in order to protect the two of them and clearly he loved lily. So now my question wouldn't the same charme that saved harry protect Lily?

Why isn't the Unbreakable Vow used more

Probably was asked previously but I wanted a fresh take to it.

Why not use the unbreakable vow for so much more, like voldemort on all deatheaters, so that everyone who speaks about anything important dies on the spot the only real time its used in the HBP but the concept could have been expanded on so much
