Alpha Legion Operatives kitbash

Hydra Dominatus! I've been playing with adding a group of Imperial Army Operatives to my Alpha Legion army and wanted to ask for some feedback on what I kitbashed just now.

At first, I was looking at Easterling Warriors from the MESBG to add some scale armour pieces to the Solar Auxilia bodies, but the fact that Easterling Warriors are almost all made up of one piece of plastic, made kitbashing them pretty meh. On top of that, the difference between true 28mm (MESBG) and heroic 28mm (Warhammer 30k/40k) is making swapping limbs difficult without it looking off...

The other option is to use older 30K Alpha Legion Marine torsos, since their size is somewhat between the Solar Auxilia and "new" Space Marine size. A bit of trimming down is needed, but still leaves the soldier look a bit wide chested xD

What do you think? Which of these 2 options has your vote and do you see any way to improve/change what I'm on right now? I don't have a 3d printer set up (yet), so I would prefer to do it without 3d printed parts.

Edit: I think I'll actually try another one based on the Black Dragon Warriors from MESBG. They seem to be almost the same size as the Solar Auxilia models
