First time painting Alpha Legion's scheme, started painting a few months ago, finally got around to this guy.
BTW, does he show up in any of the books? Where can I read more about this character?
I read an article about this and unless its just fearmongering and someone knows something i dont, one of the options i mentioned might be happening.
Got this bad boy in the combat patrol magazines, got two lots so I've got the forgefiend up next. Probably the biggest model I've painted
No one knows the ultimate fate of Myzmadra, right?
First time painting learher wings, which I'm rarher pleased with the result and second time attempting OSL, which I'm not so pleased with.
Definitely got some Claymore Ascended Being vibes whilst painting her.
I made him a little Hydra Power Staff using some Sylvaneth snakey bits 🐍
I was thinking about the new space marine codex and how each chapter now has its own dedicated detachment and how you can only take that chapter's models. Deceptors is basically designed with AL in mind. If they do dedicated detachments for CSM like they did for SM wouldn't that mean we could expect some type of character on the horizon? Same thing with Word Bearers?
I have an epic theory I'd like to share with everyone
My theory is, how cool would it be if the ALpha Legion were planned to be one of the 'Big Bads' of an edition in the future?! Now hear me out...
When Alpharius died Omegon felt his death, and apparently Omegon died at the hand of Guilliman, I actually quite like the idea that both are dead but they had seen a future of saving mankind by destroying the Imperium however they both needed to die. When they both died it would send a complex psychic/warpy vision, like a genetic flaw in the form of an activation phrase that simultaneously subconsciously enters all AL minds. However, prior to their death, Alpharius and Omegon hypnotised and sent 100'000 astartes into other factions to infiltrate. THEN when the activation phrase is broadcast across the galaxy it will wake up all these sleeper agents in every corner of the galaxy: in SM factions, chaos factions, multiple planets and star systems. Hence starting the mass back-stabbing of the 12th Edition Big Bad Alpha Legion.
At some point, Akurra in the recent books finds out what this activation phrase is, but when he hears it he understands it isn't the right time to use it - but he is shown/sees that point in the future.
When that time comes he'll broadcast the activation phrase across the galaxy, maybe via the warp somehow? (It could be some badass line like The Heads of the First Hydra Breathes Again)
And the best part? When Alpharius and Omegon died their consciousness/soul was trapped in the warp, waiting to hear this activation phrase. And when it does, it reawakens and enters the mind/body of a legionnaire turning him into a kind of warped Daemon Prince, or maybe even just a juiced up Custodes sized Astartes. Then when that one dies it transfers to another legionnaire... Kind of like a watered down Avatar of Kaine situation - or like the myth of a Hydra's regrowing heads.
Tell me what you think, Brothers
Mixed a color shifting mica powder with slow dry acrylic paint.
Heya, so while hobbying I learned about some lore of the Alpha Legion and kinda fell in love with the imagery of duality, secrecy, lies, etc. While I want to lean in further down the Chaos road modelwise, I thought it'd be cool to create a warband of outcasts who fell to the dark gods, embracing the end (Omega) of their shackles to the Imperium. Thus, I plan on using different shades of blue, green, and turqouise. Now I'm trying to find a cool name for this group of exiles. So far I like "Omega Shard" but it somehow sounds like some crafting material from a video game, lol. A quote I came up with is: “Alpha Becometh Omega. Bring Forth the End of the Imperium.”
So, name suggestions are welcome here!
The color scheme on my test mini is inspired by the awesome artwork of Johan Grenier (pic #2). C&C welcome aswell!
the animation dropped like 15 min ago and i know this ain’t super interesting but its cool! also he gets to kill an ultramarine sargent! hydra dominatus.
I’m reading anything and everything warhammer and I’ve read almost all of my precious night lords books and a bunch of other random books about the heresy and other legions. But I want to know what’s the most alpha legion book that depicts the alpha legion as they’re typically depicted? Idk how else to describe it but you get what I mean lol
Holding off on basing until I can get my snow bases to look the way I want them to, also experimenting with ice effects

Son of Russ ? Yes maybe I was one, once. But it doesn't matter anymore. My eyes have been opened. I'm a son of the hydra now, brother to yoshoio toronaga. I am now no one, and one who is many. My name doesn't matter, only my mission does
The headsman, champion of the buried dagger.
